We spent fives nights... Loved the whole experience! Everything needed is there. Charlie, the cat, was our buddy.
Nice Quiet Home
Nice, quiet home in a mature mountain setting. Owner was very communicative and responded to any question I had within minutes. A little further from WCU than we expected but still a nice home for a couple nights. About 40 minutes from the school.
Granny's Mountain Retreat
Comfortable and quiet.
Birds singing, squirrels scurrying, an occasional dog barking in the distance, a vehicle on the road, a lawnmower, those are basically the sounds around Granny's.
Very nice home. Harold the owner was very nice. He told us the history of the cabin. My husband loved antiquing with him. Would recommend this house to anyone. We all fell in love with Charlie the cat. Hope to stay there again one day.
We are so glad these guests enjoyed the old relics around the property. Visiting here will take your thoughts back to a more simple lifestyle. As for Charlie, the neighborhood cat, he will hang out with anyone who feeds him.
My wife and I really love staying at this cabin. This was our second stay. Everything is just great. The cabin is perfect, the location great and the view is spectacular. Thanks again for another great stay.
Rain in the mountains creates a different kind of beautiful! It was an awesome trip!
Granny’s Mountain Retreat was an excellent choice for me. While the cabin was immaculate, well prepared for guests, and decorated as if my Granny lived there, the outside brought something I’ve not gotten from other cabins. Being an outdoor person, I love outside living areas. Granny’s had many. My favorite for watching three days of rain was the swing on the porch near the fire ring. You listened to the rain hitting the tin roofs and the wind chimes while you watched and smelled the rain. So peaceful and relaxing. I never felt cooped inside due to the rain. And the mica mine was worth the hike up the mountain! I want to bring my grandchildren next trip. They will love the huge yard and their own trails. I did not want to leave!!!!!
We simply love it when our guests enjoy the outside amenities -- from the old mountain porch and fire pit to the mica mine -- 25 acres at your service!
