I rented this property for my family that was attending my wedding, the house had just been remodeled and the upgrades was beautiful. We had an issue with the air condition and called Meredith within a few hours the issue was fixed! Location is great and it was an overall wonderful weekend at the Bear Hollow.
Perfect stay for our group
The house is so nice, clean, and spacious. Location was perfect for us...took about 5 min to get downtown. Lots of room for a group and very comfortable. We loved our stay and will absolutely use this service again. We are already talking about this exact house for our trip next year. Excellent experience.
It all worked out, accommodating and hospitable
Sometimes processes and routines don't go as they should and how you handle adversity tells a lot about your character. When the cleaning crew doesn't arrive on time, it backs up checkin time of weary travelers who've driven xx hours and don't have anywhere to just "sit and wait". When the door lock doesn't work and travelers are rushing out for a most anticipated banquet, a kind soul shows up with a key. The accommodations were as expected and plush, and the management proved fair and reactive. I'd go here again without a doubt!
Thank you for your patience when all does not go as planned. We are glad you enjoyed your trip and look forward to having you back.
Really nice house and environment. Comfortable accommodations for 5 people.
Watch out for bears! One tried to get into the “bear proof” trash can and attacked the front of our car leaving some scratchers. It goes with the territory 🐻.
Great place to stay - we did see a black bear!
We had such a wonderful vacation! This was a lovely place to stay and Meredith was very responsive and accommodating. The house had all the amenities we needed and was comfortable for our family. Our four young children enjoyed staying in one bedroom together in the 2 sets of bunk beds. The king and queen beds were firm, but both had nice toppers that should make nearly anyone happy. Everything functioned as it should which was great. For our family, the one story brick house was perfect and we enjoyed the nice covered carport which provided level parking and protection from the rain, as it rained for much of our visit. The house is on nearly an acre so the yard, driveway, and carport (when it rained) had room for kids to run and play. Our kids enjoyed riding scooters on the gently sloped driveway. We were able to see a live black bear walking up the driveway and on to the next house which was exciting for us!
Although we had a wonderful time hiking to Laurel Falls and visiting Cades Cove, riding the original Alpine Coaster in Pigeon Forge, eating homemade ice cream at Cruze Farm, driving out to see Oak Ridge and learn about the Manhattan Project, visiting the aquarium in Gatlinburg, and walking from end to end of the city to see other various attractions, Bear Hollow was a quiet and restful retreat which was much appreciated after busy days enjoying the attractions. The house is nestled in a cove of the hills with a nice view across to the mountains of the national park. We appreciated that it was not on the very busy main road in the center of Gatlinburg, as we were able to avoid the traffic in town when it was really busy on the weekend, using back roads to get around. The house was very nice and not very far from the main road in Gatlinburg, entrance to the Smoky Mountains National Park, Pigeon Forge and other places to go and see - a very good central location. We enjoyed being able to look out on the side porch/picnic table/hot tub area and view the mountains from there which was quite relaxing.
Overall, we had a great time staying at Bear Hollow and would highly recommend staying here if you are in Gatlinburg!
