Nice unit & location
This unit is located within 20 yards of a nice dock to fish from and 10 yards from a restaurant that was closed, probably due to hurricane last year. It was just me, my 14 year old boy and my 20 year old daughter. Pool/hot tub was nice. Unit had everything that we needed. Lots of windows for views. The town was quaint and not a lot to do except fish and walk. Kids loved it but after about 3 or 4 days, they were ready to do the go-carts and putt-putt. We drove to Mexico Beach but it was still really impacted by the hurricane and nothing to do there so we headed into Panama and they made a day of it but it was a 2.5 hour drive one way. We spent most of our beach time on St. George Island which was about a 30 min. drive. They have about 4 shops and a few more things going on but not a ton. The beaches at Carrabelle are small but nice. The water is tea colored and I was told that it was due to fresh water meeting salt water and another fella said it was because the swamp water gets into the fresh water and heads to the ocean. Wonderfull views everywhere. Fishing was good but caught mostly catfish off the docks. About 4 to 6 shops in Carrabelle but none were open while we where there. I am assuming they closed after the hurricane but they did not seem impacted. Several places to eat in the area and all were very good. The people are nice for the most part but some were a bit standoffish. The Chamber of Commerce of Carrabelle was great and gave us a lot of information and were very helpful in getting us a great charter boat. My own opinion and you can take it for what it is worth, I felt the people that were in the service part of the Carrabelle economy were very nice and went out of their way. Those residents that are not are happy with Carrabelle staying a smaller town and just being the same that it always has and I am not saying that is bad. It is just what it is. We did kayaks for a day in the Carrabelle river and that was fun. I wished we had just rented them as opposed to taking ours. You can rent a kayak for like $100 for the whole week. Which reminds me, the prices were very reasonable for food. I would go back to Carrabelle but I might not take the kids. We did do the Tate's Hell gig one day and they really liked that. But, back to the unit, lol, it was great and for the money,,,super great.
This unit is very nice with the views of the Carrabelle River. There are not a lot of things to do in Carrabelle but you can find something everyday. Swimming, kayaking, hiking, bicycling, shopping and of course eating. St George Island is a nice drive for the day also. Thanks for staying with us, hope you will return.
Quiet weekend getaway
This was a quick long weekend getaway for my husband and I. The condo was easy to find. Clean inside. There's not a lot to do around Carrabelle, so we drove to St George Island one day. But not having much to do was PERFECT! It forced us to relax which we both needed so bad. We figured by the end of the trip we'd be in great shape too with all the stairs! Loved the condo it was super cute! It was nice being right on the water. My husband fished from the dock. Anyone looking for a quiet getaway would love it! Favorite restaurant: Pesky Pelican!!
This condo is the perfect getaway to relax and enjoy the water views. Jump in the pool, fish off the dock, and explore Carrabelle. The Fisherman's Wife, 2 Bothers,Carrabelle Junction,Marine St Grill are all close by for great food also.
Great for boaters
The condo was clean, and provided all the required necessities. The view was great. Very accessible to boat ramp for visiting island beaches and fishing.
This condo is right near a public boat ramp and Dog Island is about 3 miles away. Perfect place to fish or relax by the pool.
We actually stayed at Landings Condo #9 b/c the ac was broken in the unit I originally rented. The renter was awesome in getting us another compatible place to stay.
Great place to stay. A quiet get away. Only issue was lack of outside trash cans for check out
If you are looking for a quite place just to relax and enjoy the pool this is your place. The outside cans have been taken care off,so that will not be a problem next time. Book your get away now!
