My family and I had a wonderful time making memories. The location and the neighborhood is amazing. The only negative is the railing to the deck is not safe for little kids, very wide gaps.
Nothing but positive recommendations about this beautiful cabin in the mountains. Peaceful, cozy, beautiful setting.
Thank you so much. I am pleased that you enjoyed your visit.
What an awesome place to introduce my son and grandson to a mountain vacation. Such a beautiful place. The cabin was just the right size for us and offered such a great opportunity to relax and enjoy spending time together. Well equipped with everything we needed. Just picked up few groceries before we checked in and we were set to go for a few days. Made use of the grill and the fire pit. Nothing like roasting marshmallows over an open fire. The kids loved playing in the stream and hiked the mountain several times in search of the infamous bear cave which they never found. Thank goodness! The sound of the rushing water from the stream is mesmerizing and so calming and after a heavy rain sounds like a freight train coming down the mountain. Fireplace was perfect for the mornings and evenings. We ventured to the Linville Caverns. You need a poncho for sure and parking was a nightmare. Then to Asheville to The North Carolina Arboretum. Beautiful place. Lots of walking. Helpful hints: pack bubbles for the claw foot tub ( the black hose comes off the bottom part of the shower to fill up tub), coffee pot is old school so bring filters and a bag of coffee, bring oil cans for the tiki torches, pack light it’s a comfy, cozy place. Not much storage for luggage. Password for WiFi is all caps. Highlight: Blue skies and sunshine for Easter Sunday. He is Risen! A definite return visit from us is in the future. Such a great place. Just what we needed and more that we hoped for. Simpson2019
Thank you so much . I cannot tell you how pleased I am that your experience turned out to be everything that you had hoped. Next time sure of the baggage under the bed or in the loft in the bathroom . And I do so hope that there is a next time. It was lovely communicating with you.
Cattail Creak Spring Break 2019
This is our second time having three days of fun. The weather is cool in the morning, great for coffee. I used the old percolator pot to brew the coffee. Same one I used three years ago. Taste great every time.
Off to the creak😎
Oh my goodness that is great! That pot has just been a decoration until “you”! I will give it a try... Do not wait for another three years to return and thank you for your review. Always look forward to you visit!
Came with a girlfriend, left with a fiancée!
Very nice cabin with additional deck area by the creek, where I proposed to my now-fiancée. The General Store was fun to check out, as were the multiple small pottery shops found throughout the area. Nice fire pit with firewood provided. Kitchen is tiny but has all that you need. Exactly what we were looking for.
Tip: being that it is mountain water, it has a sulfur (rotten egg) smell. Pour it into a pitcher and let it sit - this will let the sulfur evaporate out and leave the water smelling clean. Also, the hot and cold taps in the shower are reversed.
Wow! I had no idea that you were going to pop the question but what a perfect setting to do so. You can come back for your honeymoon and celebrate every anniversary!!! If the water sits in the hot water tank for too long I have noticed that smell but after you use it and fresh water goes into heat it goes away. I have not noticed it with the cold. The cold comes straight from an artisan well. Notice that as the water runs the spigot frost over. Now that is some cold water. Thanks for your review and I will see you after the wedding!!!!!
Fun in the mountains!

The river is peaceful and beautiful!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I appreciate your taking the time to share your impressions of the cabin.
