Awesome place. Quiet area with a beautiful stream that will hypnotize you with its beauty and sound of running water. We will be back.
I am so pleased that you found the virus escape and the peace that you needed. I am happy to hear that you will be returning. You are always welcome!
Great place! Lots of things to do in the area.
It was very cozy..floors were a little uneven for someone with balance problems. Would stay there again though! Just learned to move a little slower!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts about your stay. The cabin was built in 1932 and over the years has settled a bit. You learn it’s quirks after you have experienced it. Please come back anytime!
A Perfect Getaway
If you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle in a rustic setting, this is your place! Pictures can’t even describe the beauty of Cattail Creek! The cabin was extremely clean and cozy! My husband and I loved just sitting by the fire and reading and watching tv! We were there on a very cold weekend (even had some beautiful snow!), so we didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor spaces as much, but we look forward to bringing our kids back this summer to hike, fish, and play in the creek! We loved reading about the unique history of the area as well! This has been our favorite Vrbo rental so far! We’d even love to buy a cabin in this beautiful area. It’s just so peaceful! This cabin definitely has the best outdoor amenities of any that we saw in the community: great access to the creek, beautiful front porch with rockers, a “beach,” carport, fire pit, and huge deck, both covered and uncovered, complete with hammock and chairs. Sandra was great to work with, and the caretaker Paul even stopped by to check on us to be sure we didn’t need anything. It’s truly five stars in every way if you’re looking for looking for a quiet, cozy, country place!
Good Morning Amy,
You were wonderful guests and I do hope that you bring your children back to enjoy the creek and climbing on those boulders. Thank you also for taking the time to share your experience on the mountain and at the cabin. By the way... I ordered that snow for you!
Not what we expected.
The location and the creek was awesome and enjoyable. The house was a different story. The house was dirty, full of dog hair. The towels smelled of smoke. Kitchen was not fully equipped.
Oh my goodness! My caretaker said that you guys were very friendly and happy with the cabin and your stay. The cabin is cleaned throughly after every guests. If a guests has brought a dog I was unaware. The last time I was informed of a pet was three guest bookings ago and I have no complaints regarding dog hair. My kitchen is fully stocked but I remember your asking if I had a blender and I informed you that I did not. Therefore I assume you brought your own. My housekeeper washes and drys all of the sheets and towels between each guests and no smoking is allowed. If you felt that the above mentioned issues needed attention all you had to do was let Paul know and he and the housekeeper would have been happy to assist. He spoke with you several times and nothing was mentioned. I truly am sorry that you were not pleased but as you can see from all of my 5 star reviews these issues have not been a problem.
Rustic get away!
My family of 5 had a great time relaxing at the cabin. We hung around the cabin, drive into Asheville for the day and explored downtown Burnsville. The cabin IS secluded and about 20 mins to the “main road”. Make sure you have your essentials before heading up!
Thank you for your review. I am so happy that your stay pleased you and your family. Come back anytime.
