Great host. Really good location to use as a base. Fab beaches and stuff to amuse children
Would recommend and would go back. The property is rustic but homely and the shower and cooking facilities are fine. We used the bbq most of the week which worked really well. Beautiful location and great host.
We stayed in The Chalet. The location is superb and very beautiful. Anthony was very friendly and helpful. The Chalet is small but qwerky and perfect for us. The Chalet was stocked with every utensil possiblr which was great. We will definitely go back again.
The decor of this chalet might be called 'shabby chic' as it was not going to win awards for luxury. However, it was priced accordingly and we felt it definitely should gain awards for value for money. It had everything we needed for a comfortable, peaceful and enjoyable week long stay, including plenty of fuel and heating to make a very wet and chilly June bearable.
Wedding at Wigford
Wigford Farm was an ideal location for our wedding celebration last weekend. The main farm house and chalet accommodated the majority of our guests, and the generous garden and indoor space meant we could have event more visitors in the day. Kids were constantly entertained with the garden, trampoline and zip line. |The property was clean and well kitted out for lots of visitors. Ant and team were very welcoming and accommodating to our requests. Lovely property in a stunning location.
The chalet was just what we needed in terms of seclusion from neighbouring properties as it was our first time away with our young dog and we didn’t know how he would be. It is a great country location with lovely views across the fields. Unfortunately we had a constant battle with flies in the property which kept appearing throughout the day despite us being out all day with doors and windows closed and battling them with the hoover, this really let the place down. The location is good for visiting nearby beaches though a car is a must, plus you must be happy to drive the narrow country Devonshire roads which we hadn’t really thought about.
A little gem in the South Hams
We spent the first week of June in the lovely Chalet, especially designed by Ant, the owner, for people like us : light everywhere, close to the outdoor, cosy but functional, quiet but not remote... We are belgian people and spent a lot of time in England (already our third stay in the South Hams), but we rarely take the time to give our feeling about a place. The Wigford Farm House and its very welcoming host deserves a real compliment ... You can easily go for a walk from the cottage, the countryside is superb, you are close from lovely farm shops, tea rooms, restaurants (Oystershack - Britannia) , market towns as Kingsbridge, or seaside hotspots as Salcombe, Bigbury on Sea, Beesands, Blackpool Sands. You might opt for a more adventurous hike in the Dartmoor area, which is not far from here too... And last but not least, the birdwatching is great too, with Slapton Sands e.g.... Jérôme & Stéphanie - Belgium
Thank you so much for a lovely review, and we're so glad you enjoyed your stay. It sounds as though you made the most of the South Hams during your week!
