A gorgeous place
Extremely nice property. L-shaped studio with plenty of room for two. Garden is gorgeous. Very private (although lot of people living near by). Great location, easy walk to the square.
Great communication from host. Highly recommend.
Pretty and pleasant
Delightful property in a quiet neighborhood. Good cross breezes for the summer heat. Very clean and firm, comfortable bed.
Extremely nice accomodations, quiet, great location; but over-priced.
This cute little cottage is near downtown Arcata, tucked behind the main house (a big Victorian). It was extremely clean and had an acceptable level of kitchen equipment (other than the horrible cheap coffee maker). I am giving it one less than 5 stars because I think it was over-priced, no dedicated parking so we had to lug a lot of groceries and equipment for holiday cooking from the street, and there were some maintenance issues (vent fan cover in bathroom hanging, lawn needed to be mowed, I had to re-set timer on walkway lights after power outage and dark stumble back to cottage, no instructions on running dehumidifier).
The Carriage House is located off the street back a gravel path, which makes it private and quiet. It is free street parking, but there is always space.
I was unaware that the fan cover was broken, after a quick trip to the hardware store it is all fixed! I do apologize for that.
I try and keep my rates comparable to other places on VRBO.
For future stays you can call me with any questions or concerns during your stay! I would be glad to come by to change timers etc.
Clean, bright, charming cottage in Arcata
My husband and I had a hiking trip planned with our hiking group. Despite the fact that most of our friends stayed at a nearby motel, we decided to rent this cottage. Two weeks before the trip, I fell and sprained both ankles. We decided to drive up to Arcata anyway, so he could participate. Since I can barely walk, I knew I'd have to spend the three days in the cabin. I must say, if it weren't such a charming, well-lit place I would have gone stir crazy. As it turns out, I sat in the living room and read books for the duration, and enjoyed the solitude.
