Wonderful, cozy suite; Perfect for a relaxing weekend
We had a wonderful time during our stay at the Maxwell House. The suite was beautiful and nicely appointed. The check-in was very smooth and Paula is EXCEPTIONALLY helpful and so very nice. The suite is perfect for a couple looking for a few days away. It's very close to downtown Hendersonville which is a fun, half-day outing and also a short, 30-minute drive from Asheville. Also, you MUST visit the Burntshirt Vineyard which is just down the road from the house. If we visit the Hendersonville area again, we will certainly look this place up again. Also, if you're into good, local bluegrass music, this home is only 15 minutes away from Fletcher's Feed & Seed, which was a fun evening event on a Friday or Saturday evening.
We highly recommend this home to anyone staying in the Hendersonville area.
What a wonderful review! Thank you for your kind comments. Sounds like you hit all the high spots in the area. Fletcher Feed and seed is a hidden gem. So glad you enjoyed Burntshirt Vineyards. Hope to see you again in the future and thanks for taking the time to share your stay.
Absolutely Wonderful Stay!
I didn’t have time to research before arriving for our weekend trip, but I wish I would have done it. I didn’t realize this charming house was a late 1800s Victorian home boasting original wood floors and porches at every angle. It is such a charming place and I wish I would have had more time to enjoy just sitting on the porch with a good book. Paul is a very sweet and very accommodating host. She met us upon arrival and then left us to ourselves with the guarantee if we had any problems she was just a phone call away. No problems though, the apartment was comfortable, clean, and she even included coffee so I didn’t have to buy any. I know one of the reviews mentioned car noise. You do hear the cars since this is an old house, but I loved it because it reminded me of being in New York. However, do bring ear plugs if you are a sensitive sleeper and need quiet at night.
There is plenty to do locally and if you need any necessities, Ingles is only a minute drive from the home, which also has a Starbucks inside. Main Street in Hendersonville is so cute and has plenty of shops, music, and dining. One night we found ourselves at Sanctuary Brewing and enjoyed trying all the local craft brews. Another night we spent an evening at Hannah Flanagan’s dining and watching baseball. You get the small-town vibe as you see everyone knows everyone, yet they are very welcoming to us outsiders.
Granddad’s Apples is a nearby apple farm and we loaded up on produce. Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, and Asheville are also a short drive. If you have time in Asheville do the Lazoom Room haunted comedy tour in the evening. I have done this twice and it’s a lot of fun. We enjoyed so many different types of places and people. I will most definitely stay at this location again without hesitation.
What a wonderful review. Thanks for taking the time to let us know you had a great time at the Maxwell House as well as our area!
We hope to see you again and hope you have a lovely upcoming holiday season.
Just what we hoped for!
The stay was perfect for our four night visit. All the essentials were provided, coffee maker, small fringe. We were not interested in full kitchen at that time but other apartments in the house are available with full kitchen House has nice rear porch with comfortable chairs. Living room with big screen tv. Quiet area at night but lots of car muffler noise during day as property is on corner of busy intersection. We definitely plan to return.
Thanks you so much for your review
We appreciate the opportunity in sharing the Maxwell House. Hope to see you again soon!
Great Weekend Getaway
Very comfortable suite in a historic home in Hendersonville. The wife and I enjoyed our visit very much. Having a comfortable place to relax in each evening was so much nicer than staying in a hotel. Paul is very nice and will make sure you have what you need for a great stay.
Thanks so much for your kind review, we hope to see you again at the Maxwell House.
It was a pleasure meeting you!
