This was the perfect place for us to spend a snowy Vermont weekend! Clean, warm, and comfortable. Plenty of room for the 6 of us. Will stay here then next time we are in the area.
Beautiful, comfortable house with wonderful character
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you. The house was a real home from home with everything we needed for our ski-ing holiday. The kitchen was well equipped, and comfortable snug sitting room for our toddler to watch TV (thanks for Netflicks!) and seating for adults in the evening. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated and comfortable sizes and it was great having two bathrooms. We were very taken with the 200 year old traditional farmhouse, and great to visit in Winter time as we were last in Vermont for our honeymoon in the Summer some years ago! The only snag was that there wasn't enough hot water in the evening for us all to have a bath, which would have been nice after a days ski-ing, and the hot shower in the morning ran cold too quickly. So perhaps there was a way a switching on more hot water somehow? But we loved our stay and hope to visit again.
I thank you for your feedback about the house. I am glad you enjoyed most of it. I wish I had been contacted, even in Florida, about the hot water situation. I think it could have been rectified by resetting the heat setting on the hot water heater. I turned it down because there would be children in the house and it is recommended that one keep the hot water temperature at 125 degrees F when there are children. We could have turned it up and it would have been hotter for your showers. At 125 degrees, it does run out faster and it needs time to re-heat. My substitute manager did not have the information that I turned it down. I am pleased you will still consider staying with us in the future.
Quiet, relaxing, beautiful views
Clean, quiet, and perfect for 3 couples. Lots of history and land on the property.
We loved it
We like to come back the owner is a wonderful person
"home sweet home"
They say " one can't come back home"...but sure can come pretty darn close. I was raised about 25 miles south of Chittenden, Vermont. The moment we pulled up the hill and saw the stone wall, I was intrigued. . Then the homestead immediately reminded me of Calvin Coolidge home in Plymouth. The open fields, the apple orchard, in ground formed pool, tennis court and even the setting of the old carriage barns were beautifully inviting . Inside the home was what really brought me home, right from the pantry, the porcelain door handles, the low baring windows [upstairs] to the wrap around porch. The wood floor boards with the protected braided rugs brought me back to my childhood, running barefoot all summer long. Even the business of all the varied wallpaper gave me the sense of visiting my great aunts and cousins. The structure of the windows, the old staircase railing and the elongated floor plan was almost a spitting image of my home when I was a child. Besides the nostalgic reasons of this beautiful home, the amenities were outstanding with its full-functioning and modern kitchen, the t.v. room [the den] stocked with family games , very roomy bedrooms, and living room with the rustic theme décor throughout.
The host, Sue, was most informative with all the access to this wonderful stay , including the safety features. Sue treated us as if we were family visiting for a reunion, very warm and receptive to our questions and gratitude. I , needless to say, our family truly enjoyed our stay. When in the area again we will certainly be looking Susan up for a repeat. Lovely homestead and convenient to the mountains of Killington (about 15 minutes) as well as down to Rutland (only a 6 minute drive).
Great house, great location, great owner
The house was perfect and just as presented online. Susan was super nice and helpful. I couldn't have asked for anything more while renting from her.
The house was an easy drive from Killington Mt., which made skiing fun!
Situé près de la ville de Pittsford, la ferme est à proximité des commodités urbaines de Rutland Vermont et les activités récréatives en milieu sauvage des Montagnes Vertes et Le Long Trail.
