Serenity is a pure gem. From the moment we arrived to the time we left it was pure bliss.
First and foremost the owner is amazing! The property is peaceful and well kept.
The fresh air has you napping during the day. If you get a chance to walk the property you will be greeted by a few local animals. They are harmless! My two dogs enjoyed the property as well. The snow covered mountains created amazing backdrop for all my pictures.
I can't wait to see what spring, summer and fall seasons are like.
Our repeat stay
This was our second stay at Serenity. It won’t be our last.
A perfect little cottage removed from the comings and goings of everyday life. Located at the top of a long dirt road, the cottage sits on several acres of open space which our dog adored. So many smells!
There’s a large fireplace and plenty of wood to burn. The living room and bedroom are large. The kitchen is small, with a combo micro/convection oven. There’s also a hot plate. All is fine for shorter stays.
The cottage has heat and A.C.
It is 3 minutes from Dorset Center where there are at least 3 restaurants and the famed Dorset Playhouse.
You will be very happy here, but remember, we have first dibs.
A lovely cottage, impressive in every way
The setting was beautiful, accommodations inviting and comfortable. We will be back.
Finding Serenity in Vermont
We arrived at the cottage just as the late afternoon run highlighted the mountains in the distance and immediately understood why it was named Serenity: it invited you to stay and relax and leave the every day world behind.
Dianne has decorated the cottage in light colors so it feels airy, roomy and yet cozy at the same time. My husband and I fixed delicious dinners in the efficiency kitchen, sipped coffee on the porch rocking chairs viewing the still vibrant foliage and basked in the warmth of a fire in the great fieldstone fireplace as a rain storm raged outside.
The cottage is also in a perfect location in the quaint town of Dorset: near wonderful hiking preserves, excellent restaurants and great shopping in Manchester. Yet after each days adventures we looked forward to coming back to it’s rejuvenating peace and tranquility. It was truly a special stay and we felt so refreshed we hated to have to leave. But we took away lovely memories and we definitely look forward to coming back.
We were delighted with our 9-day stay. The cottage is clean, welcoming, pleasant, comfortably furnished, and roomy for two. The location offers spectacular views of Vermont foliage on surrounding hills, refreshing and restful isolation and quiet, and yet proximity — minutes’ drive or walk — to all the attractions of “downtown” Dorset. Two porches — one that presents you with a postcard-perfect view of both the grounds and the scenery — almost demand you park yourself, cider or hot chocolate in hand, and soak it all in. You won’t be cooking any gourmet meals, but with a grill, kitchen basics, and the ease of shopping in Dorset and Manchester— about 12 minutes away — you can feed yourselves well. We are already looking forward to coming back.
