Getting into the property with luggage is not easy as the alley is narrow but it was worth it. The property is large but can be overlooked from the immediate homes who can view the pool. Neighbours were friendly and the few local restaurants gave a good cross section of food and price.
Was a lovely property. Great location for buses and shops. The host was easy to get ahold of and extremely helpful with any questions we had. Would recommend.
Had the potential to be truly amazing.
9 of us went for a joint birthday 30/50 everything leading up to arrival was very good all questions answered and very good replies with the exact information needed.
Upon arrival it was very wet and we were lucky enough to be let in two hours before check in. Upon first impressions we all had the wow factor.
Sadly the first 3 days rained quite badly with high winds. Normally not an issue but this led to a number of issues.
1- Air con / Heating this requires extra cash payment (not an issue) but you then cannot heat the place and have the water boiler on with lights, tv and fridge at same time or the electricity blows 8 times a night.
2- The windows in the building are some new and some old (not an issue again) but they all leaked and the place became an indoor swimming pool. This in turn made the rooms damp and unable to dry due to air con not having capability to take the load.
3-Ants Ants Ants. Everywhere ok so it’s a farm building but it’s not really it’s in a small town. When I informed the agent my reply was it’s ok they are not poisonous!!!
I don’t worry about poisonous ants I just don’t want them everywhere from kitchen to bedroom to shower.
4- The pool after 3 days the hot sun came out great a dip in the pool. Apart from near freezing (it needs to be heated if part of a feature) it was covered in horse hair from the stable that backed onto the pool. And not just one or two I mean a film of hair and guess in the summer only going to get worse. Along with hay in the bottom and even though it was supposed to be cleaned (I saw a man walking around it) it wasn’t
I would go back but I wouldn’t pay the price as if I’m honest it’s not worth it but as it is so big they get away with it.
If they erected a fine mesh to stop some of the horse debris flying over that would help.
Great village and great spot to explore from.
I wanted it to be great but sadly it’s a long way off.
P.s. extra towels were brought with big spray for us to do ourselves and towels as we used to soak the floors.
Wish you well. Will come back when addressed all the issues.
