Quintessential Vermont - a winter wonderland!
This was our second stay at the Wells Farmhouse and it didn't disappoint! Had our entire family together for the long holiday weekend - adult children, their significant others, our grandchild, and the dogs. It's so nice to have a place that can accommodate all of us. Off the beaten path, this home is close enough to a wide variety of things to do and yet can be a true oasis from the may-lay. We are already talking about planning another weekend next winter.
Rural and charming
A comfortable home with all the amenities! Everything was clean and comfortable and well stocked! The Craftsbury Center is not far and we went there every day to cross country ski. The Craftsbury General Store 🏬 s amazing. And there was plenty of great walking around the property.
Delightful older farmhouse with lots of character.
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely farmhouse. Very peaceful. The house is very comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. There's an easy walk from the house past the sugar shack and through the woods that we did our dog. Also enjoyed other dog friendly trails near Stowe. We often shopped at Petes Greens farmstand in Craftsbury. Wonderful organic fruit, veg, meats, cheese, yogurt etc. The general store is also well stocked. There are many craft breweries to visit. Hill Farmstead in Greensboro being voted #1 in the world! This was our first visit to Vermont and we would definitely return. Wells Farmstead is a wonderful place to stay.
Captivating House, Bucolic Setting
The three of us -- husband, wife, and Brittany dog -- stayed here twice before, about five and six years ago, and fell in love with the place. But the next time we considered going back we could not remember its location and had lost or misplaced all information we once had about it. Then, early this year, we were invited to a wedding in Jeffersonville, VT, and while looking at the map we spotted tiny Craftsbury not far away, which rang a bell, and just a bit of Googling brought up the Farmhouse on VRBO. Immediately the vexing question of where we would go after the wedding was resolved. Arriving there for our ten-day stay was like returning to the old homeplace for the Holidays. But for a few tiny changes, everything that had created fond memories was the same: The comfortable and well-stocked kitchen; the warm and welcoming living room; the excellent sleigh bed; the mesmerizing views from the backyard; the mouth watering garden, starring lovely butternut squash; the old sugar shack up the hill. Thanks very much to the new owners, Jay and John, for keeping the Farmhouse on the VRBO listings, and for the very generous basket of goodies we found on the kitchen table. Sorry guys, about breaking the rack on the refrigerator door -- we'll be glad to pay for its replacement.
Wonderful well-kept spacious farmhouse in the Northeast Kingdom
Gorgeous older farmhouse in northeast Vermont that has been well-cared for. The house is extremely comfortable--the beds are great; the linens are lovely. I appreciated the well-stocked kitchen. The view is amazing. We spent a lot of time gazing out at the mountains. I would love to rent it again!
Thank you so much for your kind review. We would love to have you return as well! So happy you liked our retreat in the Kingdom.
