I look forward to staying here again! Overall excellent experience. Property, neighborhood, location descriptions all spot on. Host is easy to work with and very friendly.
Unique historic house in G Town
We loved our stay. Because of the unique architecture of this historic townhouse it was hard to visualize its layout from the online description. In DC for a family wedding, the place was perfect for us. Neighborhood is a pleasure to walk, quiet, gardens and historic houses w nearby Rose Park for kids and runners, great restaurants.shopping just a few blocks away.
Kitchen was well supplied - as were baths - with all the basics, great appliances, pantry essentials. The patio was pretty but table was grimy - we cleaned it - and the mosquitos were everywhere once we opened the door (a screen door would help.) Stairs did not bother us but be prepared for a lot of up and down.
2nd floor bedroom had a lovely bath and was great for our couple with a baby. Living room comfortable and well-appointed with lots of info about DC, and a cupboard full of kid games. Third floor bath could use an update, but bedrooms and beds were very comfortable.
Amy was a gracious host, flexible with our time of our check out and super easy to communicate with. We appreciated her patience with our parking permit switch-ups....
Overall, this was a great place in a fab location, with lots of plusses. We would highly reccomend it.
Awesome in home in a beautiful neighborhood. Beds are super comfortable. Really enjoyed staying in Amy's home.
terrific owner, great place
Amy has thought of everything a person might need when staying at her beautiful house. Lots of hangers, pillows, linens, supplies, comfortable mattresses, excellent air conditioning (a must in DC), and a well-stocked kitchen. The private patio is lovely for breakfast or dinner or just relaxing. The Rose Park tennis courts are across the street and if you are traveling with kids, there is a great playground at the end of the block. We came to Washington for a family wedding and ended up having an even better family reunion for our group because we had such a good time at this house and in this neighborhood. There are great restaurants and shops and it's lovely to just wander around. Amy is easy to reach and happy to help. All in all, this was a delightful four day getaway in a historic and relaxing home. Our family highly recommends it.
O Street Georgetown
We felt very prepared for our week long stay as Amy provided a website ahead of time with tons of info. We arrived in the evening and needed to go to the store. We walked to Trader Joe's and cut through the park (saw a raccoon on the way!) There is a 7 11 a couple of blocks away and we also went to Safeway. We tried many of the recommended restaurants. The AC worked great and all the appliances worked. Soap, shampoo, laundry soap and lots of coffee were provided. Oil, salt, pepper and spices were available. Half the stuff in the pantry was expired and we tossed those as were most of the condiments in the fridge. The little patio was charming but we never used it. The sprinklers went on every morning and it was wet. The middle floor sink was difficult to get hot water, worked better if the shower ran first. My husband found the middle floor bed too soft but found a mattress topper under the bed that he put on the floor and slept great. The other beds in the house were all comfortable. The wifi worked well. We did not rent a car but used Lyft to get around and that worked great. There were tons of hangers and an empty pantry space so we could store our groceries. Many of the pots and pans are missing lids and all of the Pyrex dishes were missing lids. Under amenities it says there's a pool, maybe the park has a pool? The neighborhood was very quiet and you could walk to pretty much anything you could possibly need. I would definitely recommend this house and would stay again if I were to revist the area.
