The lake cottage is rustic but cozy. The driveway is no joke but we have a new car and a back up camera so we didn’t really have problems. Kitchen was well stocked. The only suggestion I have is more comfortable seating in the living room. Thanks so much!
We booked this property for our wedding weekend. The groom and groomsmen spent the first night & we spent our first night there as newly weds. It was comfy, cozy, and inviting. The owners were very thoughtful by leaving us a gift & they were extremely accommodating. The home has everything we needed. It was nice to relax and spend our morning sipping coffee on the porch overlooking the lake; and the guys loved fishing and hanging out together. I definitely recommend this property!
Lake House with lots of character!
Recently stayed for long weekend with my kids. Amazing accommodations, beautiful views, plenty of supplies (towels, kitchen items, etc), beautiful decor with tons of character. We will be back!
A great getaway for a girls weekend or family trip!
We recently stayed here for a ladies 30 year college reunion weekend and we had a wonderful time. The house was well appointed, comfortable and spacious. The location was beautiful and we truly enjoyed our time in the lake. There were ample stairs where you could climb in or just grab a noodle float and just jump right in, as it is a deep water area of the lake. The water was so nice, temperature wise, and the location was so pretty and scenic.
While there are pictures of the stairs down to the dock in this listing, please note that if you have any mobility issues, accessing the lake may prove to be a challenge. There are a LOT of stairs and even for us ladies in our mid 40's, it proved to be a challenge at times, even for the ones in great shape. If you're headed down to the lake, make sure you load up like a pack mule as those are not just stairs you can run up and down with ease. Some of the stairs are stone with no hand rails, so balance and taking a bit of extra time to go up and down is needed to safely navigate them. Also, I highly recommend parking on the street if your vehicle does not have a backup camera or if your car is over the size of a 4 door sedan. The driveway is a doozy going straight downhill and there is not room for an SUV to turn around and try to drive back up, forward facing.
Other than those two things, which really aren't major deal breakers, this is a great house. While rustic, it is nicely decorated and had that lake house feel and sitting our on the porch listening to the leaves rustle in the wind as we had our morning coffee was a great way to start the day!
From the moment we entered Lake Lanier Cottage, our vacation was special. We loved the tree house feel, the spaciousness and the lake decor with bits of Americana here and there. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals. We rented a boat at Gainesville Marina and kept it tied up at the dock. We thoroughly enjoyed swimming off the dock and the peacefulness of the dock at sunset. The stairs to the dock are a workout, but being up in the beautiful trees made it well worth the trek. We had wonderful family time relaxing, grilling and eating on the decks. It was a great long weekend!
