Loonsong House is excellent home base!
We loved staying at Loonsong as our home base for winter activities at Craftsbury! We walked on the frozen lake several times and enjoyed the nearby new Blackbird Bistro. Of course we skied at Craftsbury -- 2 minutes driving -- every day. We hope to return.
Sweet cottage near Craftsbury Nordic Center
We had a great stay at Loonsong! It was a perfect home base for skiing at Craftsbury. Nice views of the lake, and easy access to skiing. The owners were great to work with, and the house was clean and well-cared for.
It was very nice hosting you and your family for your ski getaway! So glad you all had fun and you enjoyed coming back to Loonsong House! It would be a pleasure to have you return anytime.
Thanks so much, Amelia
Perfect fall gateaway!!
Loved the place!! Amelia was very accommodating and hospitable. Location was fantastic overlookinng a lake. Would definitely recommend to family and friends and also plan to visit again!
Thank you so much Amelia for having us and all the hospitality :)!!
It was a pleasure hosting you and your friends. Your enthusiasm and interest in our Loonsong House and Northeast Kingdom area of VT was greatly appreciated! You caught our foliage colors at their peak, they really lit up our pond and mountain views. Thank you so much, I wish you well and will be happy to welcome you back anytime. Best to you all.
Great host, house and location
We enjoyed the lakefront views, tranquil surroundings and the house had everything we needed!
Thanks so much, we enjoyed having you and your friends for your reunion! The foliage colors around the pond and on the mountainsides have become even more brilliant lately. So glad you toured the area and relaxed at Loonsong House.
You are welcome for another visit anytime. Thanks, Amelia
This is a little one story house with bedrooms on either end. It has a kitschy 70s kitchen, a cute porch with a trundle bed for warm weather sleeping, a lawn big enough to play frisbee on, and an amazing view of Little Hosmer. Amelia was above and beyond easy to communicate with, accommodating, and friendly, though we never met her. There is a public boat launch on the next property and if we hadn't been poured on the whole time we were there we would have really made use of her canoe. We had a cozy time reading, playing games, and eating pie from the Craftsbury farmer's market in between our Circus Smirkus related activities.
So pleased you enjoyed your stay at Loonsong House! Glad you found interesting things to do inside and out even in wet weather. There are so many events and activities going on in the area including the amazing Circus Smirkus camp and shows. Very pleased to have hosted you and we'd be very happy to have you again. Family plans required that I be away a few days so perhaps we could meet in the future!
Thanks so much, do enjoy the rest of your summer,
Loonsong House and Craftsbury are our new favorite Vermont destination!
Loonsong House is cozy, spacious, and bright---with views of and easy access to the local lake, rolling hills covered with colorful wildflowers, and plenty of paths for strolling and site-seeing the nearby historic homes and farms. The house has everything you could possibly need---from clean, soft linens, a well-appointed kitchen, washer/dryer, shower and bathtub, sunroom for reading and playing board games, back porch with grill, large lawn with beautiful landscaping, and comfortable family room and dining area. The master bedroom had an extremely comfortable mattress---even better than the Westin's Heavenly bed, if you ask me! And Amelia welcomes you like family. She provided us with all the information we needed during our stay (menus, maps, brochures, etc.), and even brought our young kids a cute basket of toys and books. Although the area is quiet and remote (compared to the NYC-area where we are from), there is still so much to do. We visited Craftsbury Commons more than once (great library, farmers market, general store, and historic society!), went to Craftsbury Outdoor Center and to the world-renown Hill Farmstead Brewery, and our son participated in Circus Smirkus Camp nearby in Greensboro. We also went to see a movie at Bijou Cineplex in Morrisville---an historic gem of a theater and such a welcoming staff. Our whole trip, which was a long weekend, was amazing. We were truly sad to depart, but cannot wait to come back again next summer. It was a refreshing break from reality.
Thank you so much, for your whole family! Your little ones are so sweet and interested in everything new. You were very appreciative, thoughtful guests. So pleased you saw and did so much in our corner of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Our area calendar is full of daily events and activities, always something fun to seek out. We look forward to hosting you again as soon as you can make it back this way!
Do enjoy your summer and keep in touch, Amelia
