Relaxing bliss on Laurel Lake - can’t wait to return!
We recently stayed at Marge and Frank’s warm and welcoming lake house in Lee and couldn’t have been more delighted with our accommodations. The approach to the house along busy Route 20 belies the comfortable and thoughtfully decorated house within. Every one of the four bedrooms as well as the other living areas of the house face tranquil Laurel Lake. Each bedroom (in addition to the den) features its own en suite bathroom which is a pleasure for guests accustomed to sharing facilities at rental houses. There is a crisp aqua and coral theme throughout the house which created a cottage feel inside a spacious home.
Everything we could possibly want was provided including a microwave, a rugged outdoor grill and a toaster oven, which we have been surprised to find missing from some other houses we have rented. Each room - not just the bedrooms - are equipped with window air conditioners and ceiling fans. The latter often proved sufficient even on unusually hot days in the Berkshires.
There were ample linens, cleaning supplies, paper products, food wrap and spices saving us the added hassle of having to go shopping during our vacation. Perhaps one of the greatest attributes of the house, however, is that Marge was readily available by phone or text to answer the most mundane questions such as how to turn on the cable TV box.
But at the end of the day, the real attraction here is the access to the lake. There is a large and shaded lakeside dock replete with kayaks and canoes, chairs and a large table. We rarely missed a day paddling around this lesser known lake and ultimately concluded that it is just the right size for a lake. Motorboats are permitted but we rarely saw them other than the occasional small fishing boat. We did, however, spot a couple of bald eagles along the far shore of the lake, and waved to a few ambitious swimmers who decided to traverse the lake from the public beach just down the road.
This house is perfect for large families or groups of friends - comfortable, clean and easy to be in. It also has terrific access to the cultural attractions in the area; Tanglewood is a mere 10 minutes away, and Jacob’s Pillow is only 20 minutes. Beside those well-known venues, Stockbridge is a 15 minute drive and Great Barrington is just 1/2 hour away. The town of Lee itself has perked up considerably over the course of the many years we’ve been visiting the Berkshires, with a nice array of shops, restaurants, pubs and ice cream.
Alan & Judy,
We were delighted to receive such lovely comments about our home and about Laurel Lake. It really is a mystical place, and we are so happy that you felt that magical feeling paddling around the serene lake, experiencing Nature at its Best. Unlike the larger lakes near by,(Stockbridge Bowl, Onota and Pontoosuc), there are so few motorboats on Laurel Lake. It is peaceful and so enjoyable. It is also a dynamite location, as you mentioned. Convenient!!!!
The colors that you commented on in the house were chosen to blend in with the whole ambiance of the setting. Blues, greens, and turquoises are soothing colors that remind us of water. The corals and red tones in the house are warm like the sun. We really try to provide our guests with most things they will need while on vacation. We are glad you noticed and appreciated all the small details of the house and our added touches to make your stay as comfortable and hassle free as possible. Thank you again for your lovely review and we look forward to your return next summer.

wonderful place to stay
The home which accommodated nine( 3 generations- 4 parents, their 4 children ages 15-22 and 1 grandparent) of us comfortably. Had everything needed plus some. Beautiful quiet lake..perfect for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and canoeing. Near all the cultural spots that the Berkshire offers and we took advantage of the Clark Museum, Jacob's Pillow, Shakespeare are Company, Berkshire playhouse and Tanglewood.
Also found wonderful hikes to waterfalls
Wow! Thank you. You did do much and really took advantage of the Berkshires. We are so happy you found the house so well stocked and the lake peaceful. Truly Nirvana! Come again to stay.

A most enjoyable visit
We loved the house. It was perfectly organized for renting. Our family of 6 adults fit without any problem. Everything was clearly labeled and working. The kitchen had everything needed for cooking. The owners had provided most basic food necessities (milk, coffee, sliced bread, juice) and many amenities.
The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms spacious and the water pressure better than in NY city. The air-conditioning was effective in very serious heat. The blankets on the bed were so comfortable that we asked the owners were we could get them for ourselves.
We used the water facilities every day and loved them.
Located in the heart of the Berkshires, the house was convenient to all theaters and concert venues.
An unexpected bonus were the 4th of July fireworks from the Stockbridge Bowl that we could clearly see from the roof terrace, after a family BBQ on the excellent patio grill.
Our entire family is looking forward to another stay at the Lake House and are very grateful to the owners for making our visit so pleasant.
Anne and Graziano,
We are sooo delighted that you and your family loved our house. The best part is that you slept so comfortably! You experienced an incredibly hot week in the 90’s, so we are glad you had the lake to keep you cool and the air conditioning. It is quite an experience sitting on the upper deck and watching fireworks from Tanglewood on July 4th. We are so close! You were incredibly considerate guests and welcome you and your family back anytime. Enjoy the rest of your summer.

Gorgeous location! Large comfortable house!
Lakefront house ! Owner supplied kayaks, row boat and canoes. My kids age range 18-10 spent hours swimming in the clean lake and on the boats. Beautiful sunsets over the lake ! The house is large and comfortable with plenty of sheets and towels. Large bedrooms with their own bathroom make it ideal for privacy and comfort. The owners were very helpful and accommodating! We had a wonderful stay ! Would recommend!
We are so happy the kids took advantage of the boats and water and had a lot of fun. We are also glad that you found the house comfortable and well stocked with linens. It is very important to us that guests feel right at home and don't have to run out and buy something that they need. Having taken many vacations, we stock our house with everything we can think of that is useful or fun. We even have baking pans and baking items for those that love baking. If there is something missing, we would love to know, and so far, we have everything covered. Please come again.

A beautiful week!
My family and I (7 people) had a wonderful time on our week long vacation at the lake house. Margie was so helpful leading up to the trip answering questions (we were traveling in from out of state). The house was completely set up for us with anything we could need, kitchen utensils, swim towels, water toys, accommodations for small children, etc. They also had a bottle of bubbly and some staples for the refrigerator stocked. The home is perfectly situated near town, grocery stores, and restaurants, but yet felt very secluded and quiet. The home is also very close to Tanglewood (10 mins), the Shakespeare Company (10 mins), and Jacobs Pillow (20 mins) all of which we enjoyed. We would absolutely return to the lake house in a heartbeat and hope to next year!
Thank you for your lovely review. It is indeed appreciated. We are so happy that you enjoyed your visit. It is amazing that our house is situated on a main road, yet once inside, all outside noises seem to be so remote, and you enter the "La La Land or Laurel Lake". The convenience of its location is one of the better selling points to renters. Who doesn't like to be close by to so many Berkshire attractions? We really try our best to stock the house with most everything that someone would want on vacation. Thank you for mentioning this. We look forward to having you return to the Lake House in the near future. You were wonderful tenants.

Great house, beautiful lake
This was a great experience from beginning to end. Margie was responsive and easy to work with. The house was beautiful with lots of amenities (loved the sauna and hot tub!) and well equipped to handle our fairly large group. The lake was a lot of fun - great for swimming and kayaking. I highly recommend this home.
