Cozy Little Cabin in the Woods
This little cabin had all you really need, including a nice deck. The grounds are well-maintained and the host was very easy to work with. Easy drive to/from Bryson City. Stayed here specifically to ride the Great Smokey Mountain RR through the Nantahala Gorge. All in all, it was a really fun trip/stay.
The most relaxing vacations ever!
Everything was great! Michael is a very caring individual. We tremendously enjoyed being there. Highly recommended!
Cozy Cabin in a Quiet, Private Area
Pictures never do a place justice. The place was slightly smaller in real life than what we expected, but the size difference didn't affect our stay. We--my boyfriend, dog, and I--love this place! We visited in late May, so the woods around the cabin were lush green. (Watch out for ticks!) We found the accommodations perfect. Look through the kitchen and bathroom cabinets for donated food and toiletries before grocery shopping. :) Coming from Florida, I was blown away by the quality of the tap water. You only need to bring water containers as the water tastes so good. No need to buy bottled water. No need to worry about cold showers; the water gets very hot.
We loved the hidden note in the master bedroom to block out the morning light so we could sleep in. Those kinds of unique touches as well as the ample notes and explanations on how to use appliances around the place made us feel comfortable. The place is remote enough that it gets pitch dark at night. Bring a flashlight to walk the dog at night. Hopefully you're lucky enough to visit while fireflies are in season. It's a magical sight.
We used the gas grill a lot. All the utensils needed are provided. And the hot tub was a pleasure to use after a day of hiking. Speaking of which...
If you're visiting NC specifically for the Great Smoky Mountains NP, this place is less than an hour's drive from Clingman's Dome/Newfound Gap Road/AT. Deep Creek is 20 minutes away and offers fun tubing, season permitting. Cherokee is 20 minutes away and the Oconaluftee Visitors Center is 30 minutes away.
You're 15 minutes from Bryson City, a gem of a town where you can board the Great Smoky Mountains Train. Visit the Tap Room, attached to Bryson City Outdoors, if you're into local brews. The people there are extremely friendly and it's a dog-friendly bar. The Fryemont Inn offers the best rainbow trout I've ever had and more food you can eat for a reasonable price. With a well stocked kitchen in the cabin, we didn't have much need to eat out. But that's just our style.
Before we left we discussed coming back to this cabin. The bed, place, and surroundings were cozy enough. If you visit, take a walk down the road (28) and say hi to the donkey for us. :)
Wonderful little retreat!!
My friend and I had a wonderful time at this little cabin, very private, great price, and everything you need is supplied! Very clean and cozy, hot tub was fantastic even in the rain!! Highly recommend this cozy home to and couple!!!
We carefully read reviews. The only concerns seemed to be from 2016 so we thought we would be good. Well the complaints were all still valid. The bedroom ceiling fan shook so hard and ratted had to keep off.
Thank you for your review. I will be replacing both fans of that brand as they seem to constantly get out of balance.
We take seriously your concerns. Out of 124 reviews only two are 3 stars the rest are 4 and 5 star reviews.
