Great location, great hosts, impeccably clean,
One of best places we’ve stayed anywhere! Anne and Ken are very welcoming, friendly, accommodating and available. Appreciated phone call from Anne soon after we booked to inquire about any special needs we had. Apartment is new, beautiful, clean and comfortable. Had all we needed for our week stay. Location is one block from river and short walk to downtown. Also close to River Road which was great for riding our bikes.
Adorable apartment with thoughtful touches to make anyone feel welcome. Great location for walking to town. Wonderful owners, personable and friendly! Loved staying here.
Lovely unit and location
Unit exactly as pictured. Great amenities, if you plan to cook you will need to purchase all condiments, but the market is close by.
Host was gracious and informative as
Well as helpful.
Many thanks for your kind words and comments, and enjoyed having you folks visit the Cliffside Guesthouse.
We will now stock limited types of condiments; however, we have found that some of our guests have particular taste when it comes to condiment choices, due to dietary and allergy restrictions. Thank you for your suggestions and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Anne-Owner
Delightful cottage near Main Street and a block from the Mystic River
This is a charming residence owned and managed by a delightful and attentive couple, Anne and Ken. The decor is comfortable and inviting. Anne was extremely attentive, contacting us as soon as we made our reservation and touching base again before we left on our trip to Mystic. When we told her our flight had been rescheduled to a later time, she even offered to go to the local market to pick up a dinner for us. The finishes are very good quality. This is a 1-bedroom unit over a two bay garage, so it's almost like being in a separate home. Although our arrival was later than we planned, we were able to have dinner at Mystic Pizza, yes the same pizzeria that started Julia Roberts' career. Good pizza, I might add. Cliffside has some nautical themed decor, such as pictures taken by Ken, but it is tasteful and not the least bit overdone. The unit has good light from south and east facing windows with a nice balcony off the living room/dining area, which is visible in the HomeAway photo. If you visit, don't miss the Mystic Maritime Museum. When we went, we thought we would be there no more than 2-3 hours, but found so much to see and experience that we spent at least 5-1/2 hours at the museum. We can recommend a couple of good restaurants, as well, like Mystic Pizza, within walking distance. The Ancient Mariner has new owners who bring great culinary skill with a real warmth and attention to service; my wife and I were so impressed with the food that I went back to the kitchen to talk to Sean, one of the chef owners, and his staff. We also had a great lunch at S&P Oyster - highly recommended, as well. If you want a tasteful, charming home-away, and not just a hotel, on the Connecticut coast, this is a great rental in a charming coastal river town.
Terrific hosts, fantastic accommodations in a beautiful setting in Mystic, CT
Anne & Ken are the perfect hosts and the Guesthouse is terrific. The amenities and attention to detail are particularly noteworthy, as is the friendliness of our hosts. Usually when I visit someplace, it's off my future list because I want to see some place new. However, with Anne, Ken, their guesthouse and the Mystic area, I can't wait to return and spend more time with them and see more of the area. The guesthouse is relatively new as far as construction and everything was thoroughly spotless and its location to downtown Mystic is very close...walking distance if you choose. Can't say enough good things about this rental and our vacation!
A gem in a gem of a town!
We spent Labor Day Weekend in Mystic. The guesthouse is ideal for a couple. the apartment was very clean and well appointed. The location is perfect for walking to the town or along the river. Our security deposit was promptly returned. We rate it as one of the best VRBO's we have ever rented. We became friends with our hosts Anne and Ken and actually regretted not spending more time with them.
Mystic is a fun, safe, walk-able town with good restaurants and shops. We spent a full day at the Seaport Museum.
Restaurants of note. are the Oyster Club(Great Happy Hour), Abbots, Rise, Latitude and, of course, don't miss Mystic Pizza. We didn't go to Fords as the Labor Day wait was too long. We also enjoyed a ride up the coast to Rhode Island beaches.
