Great house in great location.
Loved everything about it. Great location great pool. Sleeps 8 and 2 kids. Great BBQ and huge yard.
Lovely property but
We stayed for 10 days and while the outdoors is truly lovely and exceptional, the house was not really set up for an extended visit. The refrigerator was full of their food and not clean. We spent over an hour transferring items to the basement fridge and then cleaning the refrigerator. The closets have all of the owners clothes in them and their was limited area for us unpack our clothes in several rooms. The room in the attic was truly too hot to sleep in even with the fan.
We arrived on a Friday and the cleaning people come on Wednesday and it was evident that that someone had been in the home since the cleaning. One of the bathrooms had small hairs all over the toilet seat.
For the high price, we expected the inside to be as exceptional as the outdoors.
That said, the location is great with lots of activities in the area. The outdoors is truly beautiful and peaceful. Also Michael the owner was very welcoming and responsive to any issues we had.
Part of the house is old and quirky -- owner Michael told us it was built in 1790 -- and you can tell by the sitting room and dining room, it has its old time charm. I love it never seen anything like it. Kitchen and the master upstairs belong to the new addition but it flows nicely.
Backyard is definitely the star of the property. The pool is amazing, and the outdoors dining situation in front of the barn is fabulous. Ginormous backyard and the trees exude tranquility. In the back there's a creek that separated the property from a natural reserve. We saw rabbits and wild turkeys. I just wish the house was a little far off from the road because it's busy at times. But we got used to it soon enough.
Michael, the owner, was very helpful and welcoming during our stay. We had a great 4th of July weekend there.
