Great place to unplug and reconnect
We looked so forward to coming and when we got there did not want to leave. We had a nice goody basket with homemade banana-zuchini bread, grapes, and a bottle of wine that was much appreciated. The fire was started for us when we arrived. The location is perfect. Ashland, Medford and Klamath Falls all about same time to drive to if need anything. It was close to several of the high lakes: Lake of the Woods, Hyatt, Willow, Priarie Resivior all within 20-30 minutes drive. The property was blooming with wildflowers, birds singing, and even a little bat. Not having TV allowed us to reconnect with eachother on our anniversary. Also loved the off grid set up of the place. We loved it here and hope to come back again.
Exactly what we were looking for...
This comfy cabin checked all our boxes. Snow, seclusion, wood-burning fireplace, pets welcome, no leashes necessary, cozy, quaint...I could go on & on!!
What better way to ring in the new year than in a log cabin in the woods? Answer: there is NO better way!! Anita suggested an early check-in, which we gladly accepted, and by 1pm on New Year's Eve, we were playing in the snow. The sun came out shortly after we arrived, and I've never seen snow glitter so brightly--as if sprinkled with diamonds. I loved the fact that we could just open the front door & let our dogs shoot across the snowy meadow, no worries about neighbors, resort rules, or cars. Our Golden Ret and our Pem Corgi were exhausted every evening, and slept like the dead. We made breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day, and the kitchen had every utensil & pan that I needed. My husband & I slept downstairs on the sofabed because we get too hot, and our daughters (ages 21 and 23) slept in the loft because they get too cold. The qn sofabed was sooo comfortable. My husband & I never felt any of the support bars (the usual complaint about sofabeds). I fell asleep gazing into the fire each night. The days were bright & sunny, but the snow never melted because it stayed cold. We sledded down the driveway, which has an incline right before you reach the cabin. It was great! Slick & packed down, it was a ready-made track for the sleds. When the sun went down, it got cold & dark FAST. This is cabin time! We had plenty of firewood, and there is an excellent variety of games in the TV area. The kids brought their 'adult' coloring books, while I browsed through an eclectic selection of books in the loft. I wound up scaring myself silly with a Dean Koontz novel...LOL! My early mornings were spent sipping cocoa on the roomy front porch, seated in a wonderfully padded, rocking patio chair. The sun was so warm, I could sit out there in shirtsleeves!
I just want to say: Bob & Anita, thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us. We loved every minute of our stay! It was exactly what we were looking for, and so much more than I was expecting! I'm already planning on a stay in the spring...

Thanks for coming, Carole. We hope you can return. And thanks for the kind words.
Checking things off the bucket list and this cabin was one. In the woods, off the grid, quiet, clean wood fireplace, vast sky full of stars. Elk, roaming around, cattle, birds.....it was all we could have wanted and more. Bob and Anita were incredible host, kept the fire wood stocked, genuine concern when we hit a deer coming back from Crater Lake. The town of Ashland was like being in a Hallmark movie. as a matter of fact my husband kept saying that all week, "I feel like this isn't real" and Anitas A to Z bread well lets just say I only got one piece, it was sooooo good. Thank you for sharing this amazing place.
Wonderful cabin in a beautiful location
This cabin was perfect!! We had everything we needed and the location couldn’t be better. The cabin is isolated and off grid, something we appreciated. Hope to come back soon!
We are so glad you could come and enjoy Singing Birds Cabin. We hope you can come back soon.
Really nice couple who run the cabin and started our trip with a very nice basket of snacks and wine. This is a very remote cabin and we really enjoyed the tranquility and it was a well stocked cabin.
My only two negatives of the place:
1) You are 30 min drive along a windy road to get to groceries/gas in Ashland. Make sure you plan in advance.
2) The cabin is advertised to sleep 4(which it does), yet are charged an extra person fee for my 2 kids. This didn't seem to make any sense. I would have done a 5 star rating for it if this policy didn't exist.
Off the Grid Fun
Great location if you like being away from everything, but still close enough to al the fun activities in the area. Bob and Anita are great.
