We had a wonderful time at flat 7 at Port de Soller. The flat is well equipped and has beautiful views over the sea and marina. We also had sea views from the west facing bedroom where sunsets are not to be missed! We were grateful that the flat had aircon as it was very hot in our 2nd week there. The flat is located up a small hill and is only a few minutes walk to the beach and the shops. The main bus stop is around 10 min walk from the flat on a large round about just outside the town. We had originally planned to hire a car but were glad we didn't in the end as there are limited parking spaces in the port area especially in busy August. Be aware that most streets seem to be resident parking only. We found bus services to be very good & cheap: hourly to Palma (only 35 min away via the Soller tunnel). There is also a slower bus to Palma that travels via the beautiful coast and will take you to Deia & Valdemossa. The area around Soller is lovely and littered with pretty traditional Mallorcan villages. Port de Soller itself is located around a scenic bay with many bars and restaurants. It's a laidback place and although popular with visitors, we found it was small enough to be the perfect place to relax. Staff in restaurants are friendly and most speak English. We had an amazing time and I would not hesitate to recommend this property. It was clean, airy, spacious with plenty of storage and the owner was friendly, helpful and quick to answer any questions. Possibly the best holiday flat we ever had.
Five Star View!
My second stay in Apt No. 7 (first time in 2011) and the view is still perfect. I have now holidayed in 5 different properties in Soller/Port de Soller since 2010 and this is my favourite. If you only need a one bedroom property this ticks all the boxes for views and facilities. The apartment building itself is not the prettiest to look at from the outside but the views from the balcony are amazing and being on the third floor you have the major advantage of a view of the open sea from the bedroom at the back, which you won't get from any apartments on the lower floors - or many apartments in general in the Port. Yes, there are a lot of stairs to climb to the apartment and it's uphill to the building from the Port, but as long as you don't have any real health issues, it's worth it! It's true there is no parking at the apartment but as we were there on a walking holiday we made use of the wonderful Pierre's taxi service (Judy can provide his details) and the local transport which is brilliant. Not only do you have 2 different bus routes into Palma, but also the old tram that runs between the Port and Soller (6 Euros now but still worth it at least once) and then the old train line from Soller to Palma. Plus the taxis which will take you around locally at decent rates. If you do hire a car there is parking nearby. The apartment is equipped with everything you would need for a holiday, including a washing machine if needed. The bedroom is large and airy with a very comfortable bed and good storage space. It also has a nice sized bathroom and the kitchen facilities include an oven, hob, microwave and large fridge freezer. And there is WiFi! Although we didn't need to use anything there are a number of wall heaters and portable fans. The sun hits the balcony in time for a lovely breakfast and stays on the balcony until the afternoon and whilst it was too chilly for the first couple of days we enjoyed evening meals outside during the second half of the week. It's a great spot for people and boat watching whilst you are high enough up not to feel like anyone is watching you! The Port itself has a laid back, friendly atmosphere with plenty of restaurants and other facilities. And the area is superb for walking - with some amazing views. We also hired a Vespa for one day which was great fun! I fully recommend Port de Soller and this apartment and will be back again soon!!
The apartment is for two people. Babies are free. There is an Extra charge for an extra person of €50 The above rent is all inclusive - that is it includes cleaning. For two weeks stays the apartment will be cleaned after the first week and new linen provided. With a booking a 50% deposit is required which can be paid in pounds to my NatWest account in London or in Euros to a bank in Soller Mallor
