We rented this house for a quiet lake front getaway and it was perfect. The dock setup was amazing. Beautiful views and gorgeous sunsets. We enjoyed fishing, swimming and kayaking in the super clean lake and kicked back in the hot tub at night. Really nice house. Looking forward to visiting again next year.
Stayed here three nights end of July. Great weather, great spot. The small lake (Lake Carobeth) is perfect for just kicking it around the house. We didn't use the kayak or rowboat but they were both made very available to us and would have been great. Swimming and jumping off the dock worked well. Fire pit was a great way to hang out and enjoy the lake views and truly feel like you were really getting away.
The house looked exactly like it does on this site. This doesn't sound like a compliment, but it truly is. Owner (Ray) is very up front and transparent, and walking into the house we felt comfortable because we got exactly what we signed up for.
Clean spaces, great kitchen, and sun room. Hot tub was great.
One note: that it sleeps 8 assumes everyone shares a bed. We were 8 guys mostly over 6', so the shared beds didn't work for us. But we brought an air mattress and crashed on couches, and we were all very comfortable.
The location also worked great as HQ for trips to Mt. Airy Casino (15 minutes), paintball in Tannersville, or Lake Wallenpaupack (About 30 mins away each).
Final note: the location is part of a giant compound/property owners association, so getting in and out requires a visitor's pass. This was a simple enough process up front, and only mildly annoying if you Lyft/Uber anywhere, but very navigable. Ray was helpful up front to make sure we had what we needed to get our passes.
Overall: great spot, communicative owner. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get away.
Wonderful lake access
Our favorite part was the dock! We swam and kayaked every day. Beautiful dock and views. The neighborhood was more congested than expected but the house and dock were quite private. Lake water is clear and lovely! Bathrooms and kitchen of house were clean and nicely renovated. Nice New flooring in living areas. Carpet in bedrooms could use a refresh or replace. There were toys there for the kids which was a pleasant surprise and they enjoyed playing with them! Kitchen was well stocked. Hot tub was sparkling and relaxing.
Plan some extra time to check in at the gate. There were often lines checking in and getting in.
A couple small suggestions:
There are some roots sticking out on the path that were trip hazards. This is of course to be expected, maybe some paint on them would call attention to avoid tripping.
The addition of a blender would be a nice touch
New towels would make the place feel luxurious. The sheets were crisp and clean, but towels could definitely use a replace.
Overall a great trip! Commutation with Ray was easy and he is very responsive.
Weekend Getaway - June 21-24, 2019
Cannot say enough great things about this property. Weekend guys trip to fish, golf, and relax. The house had all we needed and more. The fishing dock and fire pit are far enough away from the house to get the feeling of true camping but with a well kept, comfortable house just steps away. House was stocked with everything you need (dishes and cookware, grill and grill tools, as well as cooking spices).
Ray, the owner, was great. He was there to help in the months leading up to the trip, as well as our whole stay. He provided information for us on some local golf courses, where to purchase firewood and have it delivered to the house the day we were to arrive, reached out on arrival day to make sure everything was up to par as well as how to use the house Bluetooth speaker.
Would certainly go back to stay here as well as well as recommend to anyone interested in a poconos getaway.
Had a great time!!!
Great location for outdoor activities. Boating and fishing on the lake at the house, fishing at nearby Tobyhanna State Park, and a number of hikes within a 45 minute drive. The owner was attentive to any questions we had. The house was a good fit for our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children ages 8-14 ). Had a great time!
I stayed here with a few of my girlfriends for a weekend away from May 31st-June 2nd. I loved the house and the property. You couldn’t ask for a more perfect location and the views were beautiful. However my check in process was horrible. I submitted my information accurately for registration for the gated community on time but somehow when I got there they didn’t have me or my sister on the list for entrance to the property. They had one of my girlfriends on the list and got her in and out no problem but they didn’t have me or my sister on the list which didn’t make any sense. The staff was horrible- Linda was rude and ignorant and did not want to be bothered at all. I mean trust me I understand it was very busy they had a line of people and only 2 people helping check people in but a little kindness goes a long way. I had to call the owner myself to get him to call me in and the staff just continued to pick up the phone and put people on hold. The whole check in experience was horrible and honestly almost brought me to tears dealing with staff that was so blatantly disrespectful. Ray the owner was great and finally got in touch with them to fix the issue but the community seemed to be poorly organized. Other than a bad start at the gate we all really enjoyed the weekend and had a great time paddling around the lake and hanging on the dock. The hot tub was a great addition and very relaxing. I’d recommend this home.
Situé à proximité de Tobyhanna State Park qui a certains des meilleurs randonnée, Nautisme, VTT, motoneige dans les Poconos
