Relaxing and beautiful
The cottage and bunk house are adorable. The water is clear and perfect for swimming. The beach is more small round rocks than sand, which is preferable if you aren’t into cleaning 24/7! We wore water shoes while on the beach and swimming. Absolutely no weeds! No worries that the neighbors are close. We appreciated they were helpful and available in answering our questions about the area, but respectful of our privacy. The view is stunning and there is plenty to do. We hiked Rattlesnake, took the ferry to Burlington to hang out and shop, tubed at AuSable Chasm (an absolute must do!!!), dined at the Turtle Cafe, ate too much ice cream at Ethel’s, shopped the meat market and the country store - both awesome and well stocked for anything you need, including produce. Be sure to stop at Mary’s Consignment shop if you get a chance. We scored some treasures while visiting. We were there the weekend of July 4 so we took the ferry tour to the Burlington Harbor to watch the fireworks. What a show! We brought plenty of yard games to play on the spacious lawn. The cottage is off the beaten path, so very little road traffic. There was not much boat traffic either. If you bring or rent a boat, you will be thrilled with the openness of the water. A 1.5 mile walk will bring you to the point where you can sit on the rocks and view the larger part of the lake. We brought our kayaks and thoroughly enjoyed paddling to the train trussell across the bay to see the waterfall. Although an active track, we could barely hear the train. It was really hot our week, but the window air conditioner kept us comfortable. All on all, a wonderful week in a beautiful place.
My family could not have been happier with this adorable cottage! The location is beautiful!
My family had one of our best vacations at this wonderful cottage! The kitchen was fully stocked, beds and sofas were comfortable, and we had all the modern conveniences we needed. Our favorite part was the view! It was so peaceful to sit and look out at the water and the mountains. Our kids had so much fun playing in the water too! The cottage is located close to several big attractions (Ausable Chasm, Natural Stone Bridge, Fort Ticonderoga) and it was a short ferry ride to Vermont. The owners were wonderful and answered all my questions ahead of time. We hope to be back soon!
Relaxing & Refreshing!
Wonderful cozy cottage & bugallow. Everything you need for comfortable stay. Our second time stay. Planning on another!
great little camp
This camp was perfect for my family of three. My nine year old daughter loved the bunk house (which quickly became her "she-shack"). The cabin had everything we needed and it was very clean. Especially nice was the view and the beach and the close proximity to Indian Bay Marina. This is a good value, and I would stay there again.
Thank you for your review. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at our cottage. And we love the "She Shack" and think it is the perfect name. We hope to see you again next year!
