Rustic Weekend Getaway
Lovely rustic get away. Great place to unplug and unwind. Nice cross between the self sufficiency of camping and the comfort of a hotel room.
The place is awesome
This was the perfect get away from it all relaxation and just the right amount of nature with creature comforts as well.We have already started planning for our next visit.
Loved it so much we decided to visit again!
This was our second trip to Rick and Maria's beautiful cabin! We decided to stay 4 days this time instead of 3. The weather was just perfect and it was every bit as relaxing as we had hoped for. We finally had the opportunity to meet the property owners Rick and Maria upon check in. They gave us a brief tour of their property and showed us their two other beautiful cabins. They are the nicest people and the best hosts. We had an amazing time in a beautifully serene environment. Already looking forward to visiting a third time! Would highly recommend. to anyone who just wants to get off the grid for a bit and enjoy nature and a simpler way of living!
Thank you so much Ross. It was great meeting you and Shellie. We love when our guests enjoy their stay and can relax and take in the quiet. We look forward to seeing you again.
Relaxation, Romantic , Rustic
If you are looking for a getaway that involves back to basic living within a natural setting, romance and solitude, then you should definitely stay at The King's Pine. What a wonderful experience we had awakening to the stream of sunlight shining in, the warmth and glow of the wood burning stove throughout the evening and night hours and the snow glistening and crunching under our feet as we explored the property. Pure nature, relaxation and ambiance come together in one to create romance for those romantics as well as a nature lovers dream. our get-away was wonderful. Thank you Maria and Rick
We are so happy you enjoyed your stay! Thanks for taking the time to write such a wonderful review.

A perfect escape from the cities hustle and bustle...The cabins’s simplicity offers a comfort no modern amenity can supply
Most Memorable Family Vacation!
We just returned from our stay at this adorable "Little House" cabin retreat & had one of the most memorable family vacations together! My husband, fifteen-year-old son & I felt at home from the start in this cozy & relaxing authentic log cabin home. Our days were spent hiking in the backwoods, reading, listening to music and playings lots of games and cards while snow fell outside the window & birds and squirrels fed at the large bird feeder outside the kitchen window. It felt like we were living in a scene from a puzzle picture. This is a retreat to try something different, a back to basics living that everyone in our over-stimulated technical era could benefit from for at least a few days. Staying at this cabin also gave us a strong sense of self sufficiency by having to work at our own warmth by tending to the wood stove, preparing meals w/out convenience of a microwave or oven by using the top of the wood stove for slow warming of food (that works perfectly!) or the propane cooktop provided for quicker cooking & learning how to conserve the use of water during washing dishes and taking our showers. The solar electricity system for lighting and off-grid showering room is innovative and impressive and we even adjusted quickly to using the outhouse bathroom. We learned an invaluable lesson as a family, especially after the hustle and bustle of the holidays and that is life can slow down when you give deadlines, obligations, and technology a break and live in the present moment. Our time did slow down while we were at this cabin, unlike any other vacation we have been on. It was a genuine vacation to relax, spend time as a family and make lasting memories! **In response to "Magnus" who stayed a few days before us, the first thing you do when staying at a rental is read the guidebook provided by owners & in it they advise that woodshack has one side w/ the drier wood. We listened & never had an issue w/ wet wood. Cabin suffocating is not the design of cabin that is the fault of renter who doesn't know how to use wood stove properly. This cabin is authentic, sturdy, comfortable, beautiful and very reasonably priced. I have the personal pictures to prove it and all my family and friends wished they could experience it themselves. Don't let that negative review persuade your decision to stay here. I can promise you that staying at this cabin home is an experience worth having w/ owners who put their heart into this cabin!
Thank you so much Christina for your wonderful review! We loved hearing about your time spent at the cabin with your family. We love sharing our cabin with families who genuinely appreciate the cabin and the land surrounding it, but most of all creating memories that last forever. As you stated, we have put our hearts into creating it and therefore it means so much to us when our guests enjoy it as much as we do.
