Beautiful Location, Wonderful Space!
The place was amazing! Hosts made everything so easy and gave us TONS of information and suggestions on things to do in the area. It was the PERFECT location for access to the rail trail (literally right across the road), the PA Grand Canyon... from both the bottom and the overlooks. The area is so peaceful and we had such a nice stay! Definitely recommend it!
We had a wonderful time
This was a quintensential cabin experience, from the freshly baked pumpkin bread on the counter to the cabin decor with north country knick-knacks. The location is centrally located for hiking, rafting, canoeing or biking. Enjoying birding from both the front and back porches (each with seating for four) became a pleasant morning routine. Having the full size front loading washer and drier was handy when the hiking became a bit muddy on the first day. The cabin itself was very quiet, though there was some road noise from Route 6 (the only reason for our giving it four stars instead of five). And the full-sized kitchen was great for eating in. We did enjoy a fantastic dinner at The Roost as well. And Sherry is an excellent hostess!
cozy and quaint
this cabin is in a perfect spot for hikers/bikers or anyone that enjoys the outdoors. it is literally in viewing distance of the beginning of the Pine Creek trail at the Marsh Creek Access point.
The house is extremely well insulated. We had lows of 37 during our visit yet you could not tell while inside at all. The decorations inside the house were gorgeous and not overly lavish which added to a "homey" feel.
We had a friendly bull wandering the yard during our stay as well as many squirrels in the tree but the wildlife highlight was the appearance of a bobcat that apparently liked seeing the squirrels in the area as well. Sadly we were not fast enough with our cameras but it was a wonder to see.
Overall, we simply loved the locale and the overall experience of this cabin. well done!!!
We are so glad you had an enjoyable time while at our cabin.. sorry about the little bull in the yard.. He thinks he is a dog.. I hate to be a crabby neighbor but hopefully the township will encourage the owner to fix his fences..
We do have a few Bobcats ( so glad you were able to see them ) and some foxes that are seen in this area..as well as several Eagles that nest along the Rail Trail.. The Ole Covered Wagon Ride next door that goes down the rail trail have had good luck seeing the Eagles..
Thanks for the kind review.
