Lovely home, quiet.
Difficult to get out on the road but the location is beautiful. Our vacation was relaxing and the info provided beforehand was extremely heloful.
Peace, Quite and Beauty
The cabin and the area around Yellow Creek was wonderful. It reminded me of my early childhood and the lifestyle that is no longer experienced in our hurry up world. We hiked the many trails and forest areas, saw wild turkey with their young chicks, two black bear cubs, and listened to the many birds sing us to sleep at night. The cabin is well equipped, and clean. We would sit on the porch and listen to the nearby stream running and think about what the next days adventures would bring. We met a few of the neighbors which lived in the community and were out working in their gardens, they all made us feel like we were one of them. This is a great place, that has allowed me and my wife to see that life can be fun again and with no stress.
The cabin was extremely comfortable clean, and in a beautiful secluded location.
The cabin is beautiful, clean and well maintained. The owner provided a lot of information on local activities in the area.
We loved our stay and we will definitely rent the cabin again in the future. We can't wait to come back!
Beautiful house. Very much off the beaten path
The house was great. Clean and had everything we needed. The driveway was a little difficult to traverse in a toyota mr2, but in a 4wheel drive vehicle it would be fine.
Locating to driveway is an adventure in its self. Be sure to print out maps and all the instructions. You lose internet and phone signals about 10 miles out.
Our trip was to drive the tail of the dragon. The house was about 25-30 minutes from the tail, but so were all the other houses I looked at.
All in all it was a good trip!
Our stay was very enjoyable. I have stayed at multiple homes in the tail of the dragon area over the past years. The cabin was well maintained and stocked. Unfortunately the land line was not working for our stay so it made communication with the outside world impossible. Additionally the driveway to the cabin is a narrow steep gravel driveway that could be difficult for low clearance cars.
Just right for a weekend away
This is the 2nd time I've stayed in the cabin. We love the fact that we have NO internet or cell phone service (others may be deterred by this though). The stream on the property is beautiful and the porch is nice for little ones to run around on. Last time my group of friends rented the cabin, I slept in the king sized bed upstairs and it was very comfortable. This time, my husband and I drew the short straws and stayed in the twin beds. The mattresses on the twin beds are not very comfortable and could use a memory foam or pillow top mattress topper. The kitchen is perfectly adequate. We cook most of our meals out at this cabin because it is pretty far out from Robbinsville to go into town to eat. While there are coffee filters in the cabin, they are not the correct size for the coffee maker. You need the #4 cone coffee filters for 8-12 cup coffeemakers for the coffee maker at the cabin. When we first arrived, we had to run the water in the downstairs bathroom to make it run clear-- it initially was running a rust colored, I imagine due to water sitting in the well. We would rent again-- really enjoy the secluded environment of this cabin.
Thank you for your kind review. I will take a look at your suggestions on the twin beds and address the other concerns. As to the water, we had a new well dug last fall, so I think that contributed to the sediment. Please visit us again if your travels bring you back this way!
