This small and cozy cabin provides for a comfortable weekend stay. The decor is heavily influenced by nature and the numerous naturalistic themed books scattered throughout the house kept us entertained for hours. Not to mention the beautiful view and the prime location. We wish we could've stayed longer so we could finish reading!
Thank you! So nice to know our little library is appreciated. Come back... it’ll be waiting for you :)
High Falls NY
The property interior was clean and very well equipped. The exterior of the property could use a little yard maintenance to make it visually more appealing. Overall we were satisfied with the accommodations.
Great place to unwind
High Falls, and specifically this HomeAway, is a great place to unplug. Had a great couple of days here. Everything was wonderful, though I’d recommend future visitors to check in before dark, as doing so after nightfall required a flashlight.
Charming cottage in great location.
The cottage is charming and very homey. It had everything we needed. Especially appreciated the WiFi and Roku TV for the evenings. (and the big bathtub) The view from the back is fascinating. You can hike into the woods or watch the birds and deer from the porch. Location convenient for hiking and cycling at Minnewaska or Mohonk Preserve. We plan on coming back.
The home was more worn than the listing pictures; didn’t use tub due to too much rust (for my taste), downstairs living room musty w no a/c, we needed the one large portable fan on the main floor so didn’t spend much time downstairs. In Screened porch I put a sheet over the couch to freshen it to sit. To clarify, we spent a month there so our needs were greater than for those spending a weekend. Had to move a lot of things around to have room for our stuff like clothing and pantry items. The one a/c unit in kitchen is around the bend behind the refrigerator so cooling was minimal. The summer was hot so we spent time at friends and in the car cooling off. Garbage had to be taken away to the dump, no pickup at the property. Myra was very very nice and helpful but she was not local so we made due. Really the worst of it was not being able to enjoy the living room downstairs and on the main level there is limited seating. For me, not good for a long stay. We did leave some needed things for the next tenants tho; toilet paper! And pantry items that we felt would help; baggies, paper towels, silver foil, etc
