Avant 2006, nous avions l'habitude de passer des vacances chaque année en Espagne. Devenir propriétaires était alors une évidence.

Renter trys to enforce additional payment
Unfortunately, our beautiful holidays in this beautiful house were later spoiled by the renter's behaviour after our departure. At first - one day after leaving - we got an e-mail in which we were accused of having left the house "very dirty and messy", whereas in reality it had been tidy and well-swept (although there weren't any paragraph in the contract that told us to clean anything at all). As a "prove" we were sent a photo of a dustpan with some dust.
Our question about the caution of 500 € was ignored for 5 days, until I sent another e-mail with the same question, which was answered by an additional request for paymant of 178 €. We were told that we wouldn't get back anything of our caution until we had paid this additional sum. After having communicated in English all the time, this e-mail was suddenly written in French - although the renter knows very well that we don't speak French (whereas she speaks English fluently). Instead of keeping on communicating with us in English, we were told in this e-mail to "use Google translate".
After calling FeWo Direct and complaining there about the renter, she reversed her request for payment, but then repaid only 350 € of our caution. The reason she told us was that we arrived "2 hours early" and now she had a "damage" because "the previous tenant complained".
In fact, when we arrived at the bus station next to the house, we called the renter and asked her if it was already possible to move into the house (for example because the previous tenant left earlier than planned).
She told us we would meet there "in 15 minutes", so we trusted her, went there and where very surprised when the door was opened by the previous tenants. We offered them several times to wait outside because we didn't want to disturb them, but the family was very friendly and offered us to stay, watch the house, have a drink and already swim in the pool. The renter appeared some minutes later, gave us the keys and disappeared without any explanation about the house. Supposedly, she had her reasons not to tell us right away that this should cost us between 150 and 180 €...
Now we are waiting for FeWo Direct to make her repay the rest of our caution.
Since 2011, we have rented a house somewhere in spain every year - in all these years we never experienced such a behaviour of a renter.
La Mar Menor se situe non loin de la villa.
