My family had a great time at the cabin. It was clean and well stocked with all the essentials. The fishing was good, caught some impressive northern and walleye. The kids loved the fire pit, we had a fire each night. We enjoyed our time there.
Beautiful cabin! We’ll be back. Owners were very accommodating!
This was a wonderful place to stay. The entire process was very easy and the cabin was nice and clean. It was very nice to have options between a fishing boat, canoe, kayak, and a paddle boat. Basically everything you could think of is there for you to use. Great place for a family vacation!
We are so busy nowadays that we decided to set a period of time every year where we would meet and spend time with each other. This cabin was perfect; the location and the cabin amenities were more than we exactly as posted. Our two grandchildren enjoyed themselves as well as the adults; what a way to get away from the busy lifestyles we have in the city; if you want to relax under the stars and enjoy the company of your loved ones, this is the place to be, we highly recommend it!
Great time until Mother Nature sent us home...
We had our family reunion here-the cabin was supplied with everything we needed. Had a great time on the water, kids caught lots of fish off the dock. We enjoyed the paddle boat and the canoe. We brought our own boat and kayaks. Lake is a little weedy, but still were able to float and relax. The fire pit was great! Then the storm came and cut our time short.
Loved this cottage in the North Woods!
We were pleased that the pictures and description of this cottage were completely accurate. The home is spacious, but cozy and gives you that "Up North" feel. Everything you need is there! Plenty of dishes, towels, linens, condiments...seriously, I could live there!! I am used to packing a TON of things to take with. Not necessary here! Plenty of games to play and many choices of DVD's to watch. Several TV local channels were also available. No WiFi or cell service for our carrier--which my husband and I loved (kids not so much). But if you are desperate, you can go to the library in Crandon and plug-in for a bit. :) Room air conditioners (one up and one down) took the edge of the heat, but it wasn't really hot when we were there and we didn't want to run them all the time. There are three fans to help circulate air as well (this is one thing I think I would bring more of as the upstairs does get quite warm).
The location of the cottage is at the end of the road. The other cottages are not close enough to make you feel like they are on top of you. The motorboat included with the rental was the icing on the cake. My husband and kids took it out several times a day. We also enjoyed the pedal boat and the canoe. Fishing was decent: perch, sunfish, bluegill, northern and bass were all caught. Lake is quiet. LOTS of eagles!!! Swimming was ok. But if you want a "beach" experience, I would recommend going to Crandon. Much bigger lake with public access and a public beach there. Plenty of room around the fire pit and a sufficient amount of firewood.
Seriously, EVERYTHING we needed was here. Peterson's home is an affordable haven. This is the first place on our list for our next "Up North" getaway!
