Clean and quaint
The property was exactly as described. Clean and had everything we needed. Bar Harbor is a great area with lots to see and do.
What a perfect place for a honeymoon!
This is a really nice, clean and comfortable property near Bar Harbor. My husband and I wanted to spend our honeymoon hiking in Acadia and enjoying the Fall colors - what a great choice for a trip and a great choice for a place to stay! The house had everything we needed and was in such a peaceful location, but close to everything! We flew into Bangor, picked up groceries in Ellsworth and were settled in within 2 hours of arriving in Maine! RaeAnne was so nice as a host. She called shortly after we made our reservation to see if there was anything we thought we’d need. I asked about a crock pot and it was sitting on the kitchen counter when we arrived! Also - the kitchen table had a much-appreciated bottle of champagne and an “enjoy your honeymoon” card - such a kind gesture. Some of our recommendations - hike Cadillac Mountain and be there for the sunrise - but be prepared for crowds then! Hike Acadia Mountain and the Bubbles and all the way around Jordan Pond! Schoodic Peninsula is more quiet and absolutely breathtaking along the shoreline. Eat at the Pickled Wrinkle in Birch Harbor after driving around the Schoodic Peninsula. We also enjoyed The Thirsty Whale and Side Street Cafe in Bar Harbor and Thurston’s Lobster Pound in Bernard. Walking across the land bridge to Bar Island at low tide was a unique experience! Thunder Hole a couple of hours before high tide is a “sound” to behold! Climbing high in the rocks on the far side of Sand Beach is a perfect place for a picnic while witnessing the beauty of the crashing waves! Honestly, there’s no need to have any “reservations” about making a reservation here - it’s a wonderful home-away-from-home!
Great place to stay!
The place is modern, clean, quiet, spacious and conveniently located. It's on the route of one free shuttle, but also only 5min drive from the visitors center, where there is ample parking and many more routes of free shuttle. It's also close to downtown Bar Harbor. This place has everything we needed. The kitchen is loaded with many utensils and tools which made our hotpot dinner very easy. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. The paper towel, toilet paper and trash bag is enough for 4 people staying for 2 nights. We might need to buy more if we are staying longer. Overall, it is a great place to stay and we definitely hope to come back and book it again!
Very nice accommodations.
We really enjoyed our stay in this nice little cottage near Salisbury Cove. The cottage was nice and clean and met all of our requirements, including our little four-legged companion.
Great place to stay!
RaeAnne was very accommodating and her place was awesome! Conveniently located close to down town Bar Harbor but far enough away that you don't have to fight any traffic to get to the Park. Mainely Meats was delicious and its a half a mile away!! We will be back again in the future! Thanks for helping us have an awesome vacation.
This house was in a great location, just steps away from the free bus to Bar Harbor and a lovely bay nearby to walk to. The house was comfortable and clean, however, there were a few areas where it was lacking. When we arrived someone had opened the windows as it was a very warm day. It brought the temp down very well but one of the windows had no screen so we were lucky not to be bitten to death by mosquitoes during the night. The water pressure was the worst I have ever seen. If you love a long hot shower after a hike this is not the place for you. There was one pot big enough for maybe one lobster making cooking a big Maine feast difficult. The owner was a little cheap with the paper products. One roll of T.P., one paper towel, and 2 trash bags. There were only two of us for 3 days so this was not a problem but if there had been 4 or we stayed an extra day it would have involved a trip to the store. Even inexpensive motels do better than that.
It would be nice if the owner left some info on the area in the house. It was the second day before we found the Island express free shuttle to Bar Harbor. With parking the way it is and all the construction it would have been nice to know as soon as we got there. The next day we were able to get some info later on the area by ourselves by going to an information station.
