Jocassee in June
We stayed for 5 nights and even though most days were rainy, we still enjoyed our time here. The back porch is covered and kept us dry, and the view is beautiful. We brought a boat which stayed dry under the covered dock and we were able to take it out in between rain showers. There are no steps down to the dock, but it is a little bit of a walk down and back up a hill. This is a rustic cabin, but it had everything we needed and had plenty of space. I'd definitely stay again.
Very relaxing vacation
Spent a long weekend at the hideaway. It was a rustic and relaxing get away. The house was the perfect size for our group of 9 with room to spare. The porch and dock were our favorite spots.
Easter family gathering
Lake Jocassee is beautiful, especially with a full moon. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well equipped. The kids especially enjoyed the toys and games.
Tucked away in Jocassee
This log cabin is on an area of the lake accessed through Duke Power Co. Bad Creek pumped storage property. I am told there are only 35 properties on the lake and most of them are near Devil's Fork State Park. The very steep drive down to the cabin puts you in a scenic area on the White River inlet with just a few other properties, some expansive. The cabin had its own boat dock. However, it would be a trick to put the boat in there and no good place for the trailer. It would be best to use the dock at Devlis Fork and motor over. A canoe was available, and the kayaking would be great from there. We were more interested in just being together in this well-equipped property with everything you would need to take meals, enjoy the ambience, the lovey views and access to the lake. We were just down the hill from the gazebo with great views and from Musterground trail head with access to the Foothills Trail, Whitewater Falls, and just up the road, the Gorges State Park, NC. We enjoyed exploring the lake with the naturalists of Jocassee Lake Tours. This property provides access to one of the truly beautiful areas of our country.
The driveway is daunting but the view is well worth it. The home is exactly what it claims to be- rustic and private. We had a wonderful family weekend. Thank you
We stayed in this cabin for New Years and had a great time! The view is amazing and we loved the homey feel of the cabin. We also enjoyed having access to the canoe and taking it over to view a nearby waterfall. Our only issues were that the driveway was VERY steep and the cabin was lacking some basics like extra toilet paper, coffee filters, a lighter, etc. Nothing too big but it was still slightly inconvenient.
Overall a great stay! We would definitely return. The owner was quick to respond to messages before the trip which was helpful as well!
