Many rules and not so great location
We picked this place thinking we could enjoy the hot tub after a long day of exploring the city, but were provided rules with time limits on how late you can use it. Those rules are not on the listing, but are 10pm and 12pm on weekends. There was no A/C as far as we could tell and it was pretty warm in mid September.
There is no lock on the the back patio wood door or on the exterior of the unit itself. The only lock is the exterior gate leading into the unit. We had no option but to leave the unit unlocked while we were out. Elizabeth assured us it was safe, however, we are not that trusting. During our stay she scheduled a maintenance on the hot tub which made it even more concerning knowing our belongings were unlocked in the unit and someone had access while we were out.
The location was not ideal for using public transportation and everything seemed a bit far. If using a rideshare service we were usually charged about $30 each time.
Overall it was not worth the money for us. If we wanted hotel type rules we would have stayed in the financial district with much nicer amenities for the price.
With regards to the hot tub and patio usage, the guidelines reference it’s until 12am on weekdays and 2am on weekends.
San Francisco is generally a “cool” city. We have had an unexpected heat wave. In this case, I do offer a portable A/C.
There is in fact a lock / latch on the patio door. It appears the guest “Cat” was not able to locate the latch which is placed on the very top upper right side of the sliding door. I understand it’s not in the center of door which is where she was probably looking.
There is also a massive safe (industrial) that is inside the unit should any guests want to access it. In all the years that I have managed my property, I have only had 1 individual use the safe. It’s available should any guests wish to use the safe. This requires letting me know so that I can provide the code.
As for the location, market street is in fact centrally located. Easy to get around town due to the central location. It just simply is not accurate regarding the cost for a ride share. If this tool would allow me to post screen shots, I would post several to provide full visibility as to the distance and $ to many nearby locations. Realistically, the price would be half of what the guest posted. The only time rates are higher than average is when the ride share apps have peak times and when there is a major event or conference taking place which may have been the case with this guest. Even so, It wouldn’t not be accurate to say it cost $30 for nearby districts unless she went deep into the financial district or the sunset.
Lastly, for my listed rate, it is absolutely not possible to rent a hotel room in San Francisco that provides modern amenities with your own personal private patio equipped with a hot tub, fire pit and lounge.
Modern, clean and tidy
Amazing bed, slept so well. Great shower and free parking is useful. Recommend!
I’m responding to a review from another guest. Regarding the rules, they are all reasonable such as not smoking in the unit, turning off hot tub after use and turning off the patio string lights overnight. As for the location, the property is on Market st which is centrally located and easy access into many neighborhoods. The property is on upper market street less than 1 mile away from the Castro.
Small apartment on a very busy and noisy road
The location is probably the worst about this apartment. It is right next to a very noisy road and makes sleeping on the pull out couch impossible.
You can walk to Noe Valley but it takes a good 30+min.
However the place is clean and well maintained. Elisabeth is nice and easy to communicate with.
For a couple this place could work, but not for a family of four.
The place was too small and too noisy for us. Also there is no kitchen so not the most convenient we have stayed in.
Centrally located with great amenities.
Easy check in through texting with Elizabeth. Very clean flat with lovely outdoor sitting area. We made great use of the fire pit and patio. Would stay there again for sure.
I’m responding to Sara Feldman’s review. I informed her at the time she booked the unit, that it was on the smaller side and was not appropriate for a family of 4. I also let her know that she would be giving up the living room since she asked that it be set up with the sofabed as a second bedroom. After recommending against it twice she decided to move forward with the booking anyway.
Great Patio Experience
The patio area was the highlight of this property with a hot tub that easily fits four people and a propane fire pit. The private entrance with street parking was also a plus.
