We will be back same time next year
It was an amazing place to stay. Quiet, charming and had all the comforts of home. I loved the babbling Brook the sound is so soothing... literally right outside the back door. Highly recommend.
Cabin by a creek
The cabin sits off of Hwy 26 but back far enough the traffic noise was not a major issue. Cabin interior is pretty dark as it sits among trees. VRBO ad had indicated TV with satellite/cable but that had been disconnected. Owner has since updated ad and provided access to Apple system. House needs some maintenance items addressed, such as repair or replacement of toilet seat. Good location for many hiking trails and visits to Mt. Hood area. Owners were responsive to all questions. Could use a few more pots and pans and a container for mixing crystal light or Kool Aid type drinks. All appliances worked well. Nice outside seating by creek that boarders back of property.
short sweet stay in nice cabin
i use a 4 star rating though i feel like 3.5 would be more accurate. the cabin is really well appointed-especially in the kitchen-and the wi-fi is very strong if you should need it. never tried the tv or the woodstove. ac works well and appreciated. laundry facilities a nice touch. the area is quiet and access to the local store(though the Thriftway down the road is MUCH better stocked) and places to eat are pretty good. and proximity to all that Mt Hood has to offer is very good IMO.
but the pictures on the web are somewhat misleading. i think they were taken by pro photographer with numerous lights placed throughout as the cabin is REALLY DARK. main living area faces away from the sun most hours(and is shaded by large trees) and it feels a lot like a cave. additionally, some things in the cabin need work-light fixture, toilet fills with HOT water, cabinet doors-and some things need a deeper cleaning-blinds, bedding, etc. and though i did enjoy the backyard babbling brook atmosphere, but to be a place someone would want to spend more time, it needs weeding, a once over with a blower and clean up all the cobwebs. feels neglected.
lastly, most owners we have dealt with make things clear regarding things like cleaning expectations and trash disposal through either direct letter or an instruction book onsite. while i realize these questions could be answered through email or other contact during our stay, this should not be necessary. provide it to your renters so all expectations are clear. for a couple of nights it's fine but to be comfortable longer term these items should be addressed.
Love the location for adventure in Mt. Hood area.
Property was very clean, easy to access and a great location. Will definitely stay at this property again!
Cozy and clean cabin by the lovely creak
We enjoyed the cabin and the owner was very nice and helpful.
Perfectly cozy and private cabin!
This little cabin is a gem! It is small but very well appointed with all the storage and amenities we needed. The wood burning stove is wonderfully warm and relaxing! The creek outside gurgles pleasantly. It snowed 10 inches while we were there, and our kids loved playing in the yard and on the quiet road. They also loved walking down to the little market for popcorn and coffee shop for hot cocoa. We will definitely look for this cabin again! Would love to go back in the summer and enjoy the fire pit!
