Too many problems
My wife and I needed a place to stay for a month between escrows closing. We have been VRBO owners for the past 4 years, so we know how things should be. At arrival, my wife immediately knew that it was a mistake to live here. Shall I start--Unclean floors, drawers, and linens. Luckily we had our own linens and used them. Cable TV did not work. A sliding door did not work. Five vertical blinds were broke or missing. Owner's food was left in the kitchen and fridge and did not smell good. Owners stored their stuff in the closets, leaving us less room for ours. The bath sinks could not be stoppered. The bed frame is a total danger to one's shins. One bath had a loose toilet seat, no waste basket or toilet brush. Kitchen utensils are sparse and no fresh sponge. Both shower's H/C controls were extremely difficult to move, and my wife nearly scalded herself. The washing machine smelled moldy. I know it is not my own house, but come on. What really is poor is that the owner is not local and is still trying to manage it himself. No one is there to come over and see the problems and correct them. I had to manage the repairs or do them myself. He even gave me some push back with the TV since it had been working 3 days earlier when he was there. Wound up the cable had a bad connection. It took a second call because it was never set up right and I don't know how he did not realize how screwed up it was, and let it continuously malfunction. He did call his cleaning service who came over the next day and swept up a baseball size of dirt and long black hairs in just one room. We had to clean the floors daily because it had a layer of waxy substance on it; and washed all the kitchen items, throws, etc because we did not trust their cleanliness. I must say he tried to be responsive to some of the issues, but really could not do it from afar.
All aside that which could be corrected, there is no garage just a carport; only one TV in the living room; and a poorly equipped kitchen for one staying as long as we had to. It is a gated community and seemed safe, which is important to us.
We could not wait for escrow to close on our new place and luckily we were able to leave 8 days early.
I want to take this opportunity to respond to Mr Ingram, whom I feel is misleading my future customers by writing this review. He called me on 03/23/2019 asking to see the house, I agreed, and I waited 4 hours, no show or reply from him. He just left me hanging, then he moved in the next business day. Immediately, he started complaining and nit-picking every single thing about the condo. One after another, he requested a "Pasta Spoon & pasta bowl", more deep cleaning, , even though I had the home deep cleaned right before he moved in. He complained about the sliding door, which works perfectly, He complained if one blind was out of place, about the shower knob being to hard to use, while he was there he called my cable company and ordered HBO on my account and didnt pay for it nor did I charge him. I fulfilled all of his requests & I spent over $500.00 on unnecessary things to make him happy. I tried to be nice to him as my guest, even though I feel he was going out of his way to make problems. I have complained against him to VRBO . I have always received a 5 star review, he is the only client we have had that was unhappy with everything.
Perfect for our stay!
Loved the condo. This was our second time staying in this condo complex. We were in town for OhanaFest - we had 6 adults total. Manny's condo was nicely updated. The beds comfortable. I gave it four stars because we had a couple issues with the freezer beeping and with the smoke alarm beeping - both fixable things, but were a little annoying. That being said, our group would rent the condo again. We loved it.

Great Location and Comfortable
Well located, secure property. Had fast access to beach and dining/shopping. Perfect location for the wedding we were attending at a nearby venue.
Bathrooms were not prepped with supplies for 6 although Manny fast to respond where additional towels were kept!
The requirement to wash all laundry (sheets/towels) or be charged an additional $40 fee was unexpected and not included in the original contract. We left the laundry but were refunded the entire deposit amount so the comments from previous guests were taken to heart by the owner. Thank you! Would have made a nice trip very chaotic at the end.
Beautiful and relaxing along with some funny cleaning responsibilties
We loved our stay at Monarch Beach! Everything was clean. Bedrooms, dining area and living room were all very comfortable. Having a washer and dryer on site was also so helpful. The only downside is the bizarre amount of cleaning you are asked to do even though you are charged a cleaning fee. Nothing says “your vacation is officially over” like waking up early to wash all the linens and towels in order to not be charged and out the door by 11am. Even my husband looked over the “rules” of the property and laughed at just how many there were. Overall it’s a beautiful location!
Great vacation and stay at Dana point. Stress free, easy access to beaches and quiet complex.
Our Dana point stay was really nice. no problems with the property. I didn’t enjoy washing all the bed linens before departure. First time I had to do that with vrbo. Anyway lovely condo in a great location. I would recommend it to a friend.
