We arrived at our rental to find vines growing through the front bushes onto the porch. The porch needed several boards replaced. The unit was not clean, scuffs and food on the step treads and walls, utensils had food stuck to them, missing smoke alarm in the kids bunk room (just wires hanging from the ceiling), no batteries in remotes and the list goes on. We contacted southern rental company and they sent a property manager over the next morning. She took many pictures and apologized and promised there would be a cleaning crew in that day. They NEVER came! The only refund we received was our cleaning fee and a $60 early check in fee.

We sincerely apologize that we were not able to complete that list before your arrival and would like to thank you again for allowing us to address your concerns in person. WORN-DOWN, BEAT UP HOME.440 yds from beach, NOT 150
PROPERY POORLY MANAGED. We took possession after a 5 month construction worker team living there. Management only allowed for a 3 hrs cleaning. Carpets filthy and stained, kitchen beat up. Sofa bed smelled scary-could not use. Bunk beds unstable. Several light bulbs out. Kitchen VERY poorly-equipped. Cooking for a family impossible. ADDITIONALLY, distance to beach is actually 440 yards (not 150 as stated), there is NO GULF VIEW (as promised in description), and Silver Sands shopping is 16MILES AWAY,(not less than10 as described). Wifi never worked. We contacted management, and they agreed to send in a deep cleaning crew but we would have to vacate the home for the day. They would NOT extend our stay a day for our trouble. Southern Rental was well-aware of homes condition when we made our reservation and DID NOT PLAN APPROPRIATELY FOR A GOOD CLEANING. Very disappointed. All they would do is return our cleaning fee (OBVIOUSLY) and give us an extended checkout of 1pm (moved from 9 am) Our suggestion would be to rent another property from another management company. On a positive note, Summers Edge (the neighborhood) is quiet, still has permission for beach access(a tricky thing on 30A) and other homes seem nice.

We do appreciate you pointing out the discrepancies on our listing and we have corrected those. We can report that the carpets and sofas have been cleaned. We do apologize that we were not able to schedule that while you were in town but understand not having a place for your three dogs while it was being done. We do appreciate you taking the time to report your concerns to us and allowing us the opportunity to correct what we could. We can also report that the kitchen has been completely restocked and we are working diligently with the owner to upgrade the property. We do hope that we will see you again in the future. We would love the opportunity to show you a vacation that meets our true Southern standard.

Short walk to the pool and beach. Lovely community
Perfect for what we were looking for. We got to bring our dogs and loved the community all the houses were located in. Surrounded by other families in a cute beach neighborhood. The beach is about a 7-10 minute walk. We also loved the local seafood markets near by! Would definitely recommend this place.
