Cozy and Accessible
The bungalow is tucked away and is a nice reprieve to the hustle and bustle of the town. It is in close proximity to area attractions as well as a nice supermarket. If you are looking for budget friendly accommodations, I recommend Red Rooster Bungalow.
Feel like a local in spacious hip comfort!
Want to feel like you're an owner on the island? Book Gerson's home. Enter through a private gate and enjoy the lux feeling of your own patios, gardens, and privacy. the home is so unique- we invited our family over who opted to stay at hotels in Playa Norte and they "ooooh'd" and "ahhhh'd" adoringly at the charm and architecture we'd never seen before. Its a perfect place for a couple with the option to host your friends/family for dinner or naps :) We left the AC off during the day but whenever we returned home it only took minutes to fully cool the place-- there are two fans also. We had to turn it off at night because it worked SO well and we got cold! There is a hot water unit in back that we didn't even turn on because the feeling of cool showers under the big square shower head was a refreshing treat.
We can tell Gerson and his family took care with the decor, there are so many sweet artisanal touches! Very grammable for you IG pro's.
My lover and I felt like we had the best of both worlds on the island- easy access by walking, a $3 taxi, or a golf cart rental ride to the bustling playa norte, and also far removed enough to feel more immersed in the "colonies." On the corner of the residence, you'll find a tienda for water/beers, a fruit stand, and also a deeeeelicious pollo al carbon casual/very local dining spot, open late too (one day we ordered enough "poc chuc"/pork chop, costillas/ribs, and grilled chicken with all the fixings of rice, beans, salad, salsa to feed six for a beach picnic and it was so affordable!) Definitely, go to Polo's Mango Cafe for breakfast/lunch- also walkable and check out the church across the street for the most tranquil vista point on the island! There's so much to explore outside of Playa Norte- and Gerson's home situates you in a prime spot to start!
Gerson was very responsive the entire time and supported us with everything we needed. Getting and dropping off keys was a breeze, right at the ferry terminal!
Thank you, Gerson, for making our first visit to Isla Mujeres really feel like a family trip! Very memorable!
Thanks for your kind review is our pleasure to facilitate as much as possible for visitors to feel at home.
Glad you felt like a local at our Isla.
