My little family and I, We stayed for one week and appreciated this place very much. The house is on a hill, at the edge of a forest. It was really refreshing to be there. We've found the house well equipped, clean. Everything was functionnal.
We've visited the nearby JW facilities. We went to the nearby iced lake several times and have walked on it. For us it was something new. We went to several malls such as The Woodbury Common Outlets, the Palisade Center... It took us a little bit more than 1h to go to NYC each time we gone. How We appreciated to back in such a peaceful place after our several trips!
The owner, Douglas, answered all my messages without delay, so I definitely recommand this place for its refreshing environment and its nearby activities.
Thank you Moise. I'm so glad you enjoyed staying at the #deertrailhouse! It sounds like you all made the most of your trip and really explored all the wonderful things the area has to offer. You were a fantastic guest. I appreciate how responsive you were and that you took such good care of the house. You are welcomed back anytime! I would highly recommend you to any future hosts.
Nice, relaxing place
Quite and relaxing stay, with an interesting little town and nice people. House is well equipped, nice place.
Delightful cabin in a peaceful setting
The beds were very comfortable and the cabin had everything needed for a relaxing stay.
Relaxing week in NY
We had a group of 5 adults that stayed in the deer trail cabin. It had plenty of room and the views from the cabin of all the trees were beautiful. It was a great location to visit the world headquarters Jehovah’s Witnesess and surrounding complexes. It was also a easy drive to NYC, We really enjoyed having a central location to come back to every night. We really enjoyed our stay!
Lovely House near a Lovely Lake
Our little family of 5, including a 3 year-old boy and 5 month old twins, enjoyed a comfortable stay in Doug’s lovely cabin. The house is very well designed, nicely furnished with lots of sunlight, space, and modern amenities. The bathrooms, kitchen and bedrooms were very nice and the beds were very comfortable.
Doug was very responsive to all questions that we had about the house and Greenwood Lake. Some of our favorite activities were the neighborhood beach, Belleville Farms Creamery (for delicious ice cream), Ochs Ochards, Warwick Winery (one of our favorite places to visit). We also made our way out to the Storm King Art Center and Woodbury Commons.
The only things to note is that there are quite a few steep hills to drive up to get to the house and the driveway is fairly steep, but we made it work with no issues. Also, the well water is a bit harsh and if you wash it may turn some items of clothes yellowish but somehow my son’s eczema disappeared while we were there and has yet to return!
Overall, we highly recommend this house. It is a wonderful break from the hustle and bustle of the city!
Hi Taiese, thank you for the wonderful review! So glad your family had a fun time at the house and exploring the area. The longer I'm up there, the more I realize all the fun activities there are to do.
That's great news about your son's eczema clearing up! I had no idea it could have that effect. I actually just had a commercial grade filtration system installed. All of the wells in the area have iron minerals in them, but this seems to have take can of the issue. Hopefully no more yellowish spots, although now that we know it helped with your sons skin, maybe I should bottle it pre-filtration and see if it helps other!
Thanks again for staying. Come back anytime!
We really enjoyed our stay here! The beds were comfy, the kitchen was nice, and the bathrooms were pretty cool. We also enjoyed the grill and the deck, especially the swing. Doug was very easy to communicate with and made sure we had what we needed. Very nice experience!!!
Thank you for the compliments Vanessa! So glad to host your group and always enjoyable to hear when it was a wonderful experience. Come back anytime!
