Beautiful view and gardens. Nice, central location in Marigot Bay to rest of island.
David is a fine host and tour guide. He’s very knowledgeable and gives great tips on adventuring and restaurants. We rented a small SUV and while the roads are steep and curvy (and on the opposite side of road from U.S.) we managed to take an adventurous ride everyday. (Bring Dramamine if you get carsick easily) Our room was small yet sufficient. We had a mini fridge and small table in the room, besides the bed and bath. There’s no A/C and some nights were warm, but comfortable with fans. We didn’t bring the correct electricity converter so we couldn’t charge our devices in the room. David offered one outside his house near his porch so we used it, as well as our car converter/charger. I wasn’t able to use my hair iron, which was annoying when I wanted to dress up for dinner, so I wore a lot of hats. ha Other guests were quiet and friendly and we met at the pool to watch the sunsets and review our adventures. We were woken most nights by some barking dogs nearby and once by loud music coming from a party boat down in the bay. Otherwise the villa is very quiet and serene. We loved the restaurants in Marigot Bay, especially Masala and Mygos. David took us on a tour of the volcano, botanical gardens and mineral bath. It was a fun day of exploring and we had a wonderful lunch with a stunning view of the Pitons. We spent three days at Ti Kaye village and beach. It’s a terrific beach with good snorkeling, nice staff and restaurant and closest drive to Marigot. You will pay to get in to the resort and will receive a credit towards any food/Bev at the restaurant. (Sugar Beach is $50 US and we decided to pass on that). We rented our little Toyota SUV from the airport and it was very easy to pick up and return. (Sixt/Islander) We did get a little lost on the way to David’s but we called him when we were close and he walked us through it. The road is steep and rocky! We got used to it very quickly. If you’re planning on purchasing your own food and traveling with a cooler, there’s a Massey mega store in Castries that’s convenient on the way up to Pigeon Bay. We didn’t have a freezer to keep ice on hand but purchased it in the Marigot Bay village each morning and bought a make shift cooler (plastic bin) at Massey since coolers were extremely expensive. I’d recommend bringing a collapsible cooler in luggage if you’re like me and prefer to pack a beach picnic. Overall, a terrific vacation with friendly St Lucians and good information from our host David.
