Close to freeway and Disneyland! Very nice interior!
I have both great and not so great things to say about my experience at this house. The good stuff first, house has easy access to the freeway for quick travel to Disneyland and the beach and plenty of restaurants, fast food and grocery stores nearby. The interior was really nice and clean with almost everything your house would have. Plenty of extra pillows and blankets, nice stocked kitchen with washer and dryer which was really nice. The safe was nice to lock valuables in. Bathroom was nice and shower is huge. Smart Tv’s for the kids was a hit. There was a minor issue with the alarm and upon calling the owner the problem was solved very quickly and owner was very nice. Now the not so good. House is literally on a Main Street and it sounds like a drag strip at night. Woke my family up numerous times. Previous reviews stated not feeling safe in area and while it wasn’t the greatest area I never felt unsafe although I wasn’t a huge fan of parking my car in the alley and having to walk around to the front to get in. One morning we woke up to one of the outside chairs moved to the lower portion of the outside sitting area with a beer can beside it and while we never heard anybody out there it was a weird feeling to know someone was right outside the front while we were sleeping. Overall the price for what you get is very good, hopefully you just sleep a little sounder than we did.
BEAUTIFUL BATHROOM & KITCHEN
We were a veteran ministry who stayed here for the 3-day Celebrate Recovery Summit at Saddleback Church. We were at the church most of the time so the house provided a great place to lay our head each night. This property provides so much more inside from the outside picture. The kitchen and bathroom were gorgeous with plenty of room. Although it was a 1 bedroom, the rest of the property provided more than ample room!! The kitchen also had a door so those who woke early were able to get coffee, chat quietly while others were sleeping in the living room. We even squeezed in a trip to Hamilton Beach and ate at Ruby's on the pier. The only reason I did not give it a 5-star rating was the location and potential security concerns. There was a lot of police activity each and every night and security was a concern later in the evening. The other feedback is that with the 3 steps that go up to the door, accessibility for those in wheelchairs could be an issue. Also, (and outside the control of the property owners), but the scheduled power outage expected occurred a night earlier which was a big surprise to us all and the construction caused a parking change but we adjusted to both well and had a great stay. During this stay, I had groceries delivered by InstaCart/Whole Foods, so one piece of advice would be to use the market right across the street and get other items as necessary in/around town. The market across the street provided a quick option when we forgot sour cream, etc. Great property, great people. I would certainly rent again from them.
Interior was great, as advertised. Neighborhood was a shock.
Owners were great, living space was upgraded and very comfortable. Some of the reviewers tried to warn us, but we took a chance. Here is our experience with the neighborhood. We left Disney at closing each night we stayed so we arrived back after midnight. I have a wife and 3 daughters 8, 11, 15. On the first night we were walking from our car to the door, passed a group of guys smoking weed around 1am. Imagine the discomfort of passing that while holding my sleeping 8yr old who is dressed as belle and my teenage daughter behind me. 2nd night I drove them to the front door, but our kids spotted 2 prostitutes within a block of the place. 3rd morning we woke up to a man screaming “SHUT UP!” And hitting himself right outside the gate. Apparently a drug induced hallucination. During the day, it wasn’t as bad (beside the guy yelling st himself), but if you are planning to leave or return at night I would not recommend bringing children.
The house is in an urban area. The good news is Santa Ana is rated 4th safest city in America by Forges magazine. There is a vibrant downtown with many fine restaurants open late just blocks away.
Just like any densely populated city, there is a wide range of people and activities. But other than car accidents and occasional graffiti (which the city quickly eradicates) we are not aware of any acts of crime that have effected anyone in this area.
Didneyland was about 10 minutes away. Very clean, organized, more roomy than we thought. With kids, washer and dryer was helpful. Plenty of supplies for us to use. Onsite computer/internet came in handy. The only thing is that it is on a busy street, but is gated. Overall it was a cute comfortable place and we would book it again in the future.
Clean, spacious, and close to Disneyland
This was a great place to base our visit to LA and Disneyland. The accommodations were great, especially the bathroom. It is a quick two minutes to get to I-5 and a few more to the exit ramp to Disney. There was plenty of lighting and space for our family to enjoy after long days of sightseeing. We will certainly consider this location for our next visit to LA.
