Short but pleasant stay
From the moment we planned our little getaway we knew this cabin was exactly what we were looking for and in no way was disappointed (except that the visit wasn’t long enough) the cabin was extremely clean and is in a nice quiet location with beautiful lake access and views. Doug was a perfect host making sure to explain everything we needed to know about the cabin and the surrounding area, he was there if we needed anything or had any questions and even gave us a call on our last day to ask how everything went. We did not want to leave and definitely are planning on going back again!!
We’re glad you enjoyed your time at the cabin. The quiet, rustic setting provides the perfect spot to relax and recharge one’s battery. The cabin’s location made it possible for you to take advantage of the Lake Placid Region and the many related points of interest.
Looking forward to your return at some future time.
This cabin was the perfect getaway for our family. We all loved fishing off the dock, canoeing and taking hikes in the nearby areas. The views were amazing and overall it was just an amazing, peaceful and relaxing place. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We will definitely be back some time in the future!
We’re delighted that you found the cabin and this area of the Adirondack Park a source of enjoyment for your family. You visited a number of local and regional sites during your stay, as well as fishing and boating on the lake. You did a lot!
Thank you for your positive review of Camp Critters and we hope you’ll return at some time in the future.
Excellent location for a relaxing family vacation. Kids loved the cabin, pets loved the outdoors. Two great places to eat near by, the rest of the time we BBQ'd. Climbed a small Mt., which was perfect for kids, did some trout fishing near by and lake fishing with the canoes. Owner is great and as attentive as you need or dont need. Enjoy
Thank you for your positive review of Camp Critters and this region of the Adirondack Park. We’re delighted to learn that you and your family took advantage of the many outdoor activities near the cabin and that you enjoyed the tranquility and privacy of this lakeside setting.
Cozy Tranquility with Mountain Views
This cabin was just as advertised! The large stone fireplace, screened in porch, window boxes full of flowers, and vintage charm was just what we were looking for in a wilderness cabin getaway. The accommodations were comfortable for our family of five, and even though we did not bring our dog this trip he would have been welcome (and would have loved it)! We were easily able to access all the high points for a trip to the Adirondacks, including Lake Placid, Whiteface Mountain, The Wild Center, and much more. The owner, Doug, was attentive and available for any questions or concerns. Bed and bathroom linens were not provided, but the cabin was well stocked with spices, all kitchen necessities, paper products, dish and hand soap, etc. If we every return to the Adirondack region we would rent this cabin again in a heartbeat!
Thank you for your comments about Camp Critters and our region of the Adirondacks. It’s great to hear from out-of-state guests, about how many interesting things there are to do and to enjoy in this area and your family certainly did a lot.
This place was amazing. Very clean, very private, beautiful dock and patios, 3 outdoor fireplaces. Doug, the owner, showed us several beautiful hikes on the map that turned out to be outstanding. I highly recommend visiting.
We’re happy to learn that you had a very positive experience while you were at the cabin. There are a variety of special Adirondack activities close to Camp Critters and I’m pleased to learn you and your family enjoyed some of them.
One in a million.
If you are traveling to the Adirondack Mountain this place to stay. Not to far from a Walmart but far enough out to enjoy the Beautiful outside. A must is to walk down to the dock at night and turn off you flashlights and glaze at the beautiful night sky it was amazing! We took the canoes and row boat that’s provided. The canoe that has the wooden seats be careful in cause it a bit sensitive to movement which we found out when we flipped it. We also fished and caught some yellow perch and pumpkinseeds fish. My youngest daughter who’s 12 really enjoyed getting on the canoe and catching some fish. She also loved running around, making s’mores and going down to the dock and fish by herself. I thought the kids would have a hard time since there is no WiFi, signal, or air conditioner but they did great. The first night was a bit hot. But after that it was the most perfect weather we could have asked for. A huge Thank You to the Johnson’s for this opportunity to stay at your cabin on the lake.
We're delighted that you and your family had a wonderful experience at Camp Critters. You certainly enjoyed the lake and the activities the Adirondacks offer.
