Sweet Spot in Rhinebeck!
7 knitters in town for the New York Sheep and Wool festival found this sweet spot 2 miles from the fairgrounds to be absolutely perfect! Kate was quick with responses to quick questions. We used every room in this house and could spread out. Beds are very comfortable, linens are luxurious and comfy, kitchen well stocked (though we didn't cook) and the view of the back yard and pond is charming. Restaurants in town were absolutely fabulous, we ate very well and were happy we had made reservations ahead of time. Thank you Kate for sharing this gem of a getaway!
Beautiful house and great kitchen
My wife and I stayed here with our two kids (ages 2 and 4) for a week in August and loved it! The setting is beautiful and peaceful, especially with the deck and pond in the back, but the house is close to downtown Rhinebeck and to a supermarket. Although it got quite hot for a couple days during our stay, the window AC units kept the bedrooms, and main spaces cool. And the kitchen is extremely nice and well-equipped, and ideal for cooking at home. (Note, though, that there is no microwave and no drip coffeemaker.). We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Charming house and great backyard!
We had a great stay. The house is super cute and the owner was really responsive and answered all my questions. My sister also left her necklace there and we appreciated that the owner emailed it back right away!
The home was beautiful. The beds were a bit uncomfortable and the stairs were awkward.
The home was very clean and welcoming. It is set on several acres in the rolling hills of the Eastern Hudson Valey. We had a minor air conditioning issue which was quickly resolved.
The four bedrooms are large. The downstairs has a very nice kitchen, large dining room, office area, living room, den, and foyer.
There are two upgraded bathrooms, one upstairs with a shower and a tub, and one downstairs with a shower.
There is a large comfortable deck on the south side of the home.
The well equipped kitchen was lacking a microwave oven and coffee maker.
The rear stairs, especially the upper landing were difficult to deal with, especially the step into the bathroom, which is quite a bit higher than the others with no railing or other handholds.
There was always amply hot water even with five adults.
The laundry area was bright and the equipment worked well.
There was no available drawer space in the master bedroom and only a small amount of closet hanging area was available.
In spite of the minor shortcomings we had a lovely eleven day stay in a beautiful 160 year old farm house.
Fantastic Farmhouse in the Country!
My girlfriends and I (who have been friends forever) just spent the weekend in this beautiful farmhouse! The surroundings are absolutely perfect for a nice night out on the deck enjoying the wonderful evening breeze with a glass of wine. The kitchen is huge and was a nice gathering place for all of us. The four bedrooms were large and accommodating for our party of five. The beds were extremely comfortable and the linens were beautiful! Ample towels were provided which we found in each of our rooms. We enjoyed looking in the different rooms of the farmhouse and loved the antique decorations and furnishings. It was so special to be able to stay in this amazing older home - it was right up our alley! We were only two miles from the Dutchess County Fairgrounds and minutes from downtown Rhinebeck. A wonderful weekend for sure for our annual "gal-pal getaway". We will be back next year!!!
Heaven away from home!
This home was the ideal place for my family to gather and decompress for a few days. I wish we had been able to stay longer. We found ourselves gathering in the beautiful kitchen, but then decided to move from room to room as there are so many cozy places perfect for conversation. This was the first time we've ever done VRBO, and it almost felt more like home than home!
