Great cottage it’s very clean and comfortable.
This place was great the public boat ramp right next the cottage was entertaining. Maryann is very nice and she is also very accommodating. I will definitely be renting again.
We very much enjoyed this home. It served our small family of 3 perfectly. We had everything we needed and easily accommodated another couple for a great cookout. Beautiful views and comfortable furniture were icing on the cake. Next time we are in New Hampshire, we'll be sure to stay here again.
This is a Lake Winnipesaukee Treasure!
I was lucky enough to rent this for the Labor Day Weekend and it was perfect! This was love at first sight for me! Maryanne was so accommodating and made available everything I needed. The cottage is exactly as described, if not more. Extremely clean and well stocked with all your needs. The linens are first class and the decor made you feel right at home. The beach and the screen porch were so relaxing that I didn't want to leave. People/boat watching at the marina next door was very entertaining. The noise is not as bad as some reviewers presented, though there are times when people are louder on the docks then they realize. The kayaks provided were wonderful. My friends (who never kayaked before) enjoyed a ride through Smith Cove which is so peaceful. I would not venture out into the lake due to boat traffic during the summer season though. I can't wait to rent this cottage next year. Thank you Maryanne!
Hi Laura. So glad to hear you had a great time during your stay. Like you, my favorite two spots are the beach and screened-in porch also.
Next spring I intend to install a water feature to reduce the occasional early morning launch. I just need to ensure it doesn't diminish the natural sound of the waves lapping on the beach which I find to be very special. Hope to see you next year!
Great stay for small family.
We had a great time staying at Maryann's cottage. The cottage was very clean, and well kept, with full-size stove and fridge. Though small, it never felt cramped. The parlor was very comfortable . We spend most of our time either on the screened porch, or sitting by the water, which is about 25 ft. from the house. The beach is clean and sandy, good for wading and tossing the football around.
There are two kayaks, with life jackets as well. Whenever my ten yr old got itchy, asking if he wanted to go for a paddle did the trick. The cottage is very centrally located. The Weirs, and Gunstock Mtn are within 15 mins, with supermarkets, and plenty of restaurant options just as close. The town dock, which is next to the cottage, really had little impact. It can be busy, but we never found it a bother. Overall it was very relaxing, especially later in the day. Maryann was very pleasant to deal with. She responded quickly, and never seemed put-out. We hope we can squeeze a return trip in next summer. I would highly recommend the cottage for a family of 3-4, looking for lots of activities, or just wanting to relax an take it slow.
Charming Little Place
We stayed for two weeks and really enjoyed our stay. It was just what we needed. I brought my 18' fishing boat and there was just enough room to park that and my SUV.
The good - I like small places and Maryann has this place decked out with a lot of nice touches. The screened in porch is the place we hung out and the chairs out front. The Lyons Tavern is about 100 yards away and fun place for a beer and food. Patrick's pub is about 1 mile away and another great place for food and drink. Not too far from Weirs Beach where you can pick up the Mt. Washington boat ride to Wolfeboro and back. Lots of great hiking trails nearby. Mt. Major is close and if you go to Squam lake, there is great hiking and a scenic boat ride there (30 minute drive). Be forewarned these hikes are very difficult but the views are stunning at the top.
The bad - It is right next to the city docks and boats are coming and going all day long. It is sort of fun to watch to a point. The boats that come and go all day long are the island dwellers and they come in to pick people up, drop off trash, etc. What we didn't like is the people launching their boats at 4:30 in the morning and making a lot of noise.
Misc - this is the kind of place you bring a swimming suit, some shorts and a few shirts. Not really any room to hang clothes, etc. Perfect place for a couple. Not sure I would want to be there with kids but that is just me. Great gas grill, internet was good, what more can you want. Maryann had everything there; kayaks, fire pit, tons of chairs, etc.
great place for a relaxing week
Cozy, comfortable cottage with a busy dock system nearby. We enjoyed our stay very much, and MaryAnn was easy to work with.
Environ 3 miles au centre de Laconia ou Gilford. 4 miles à Weirs Beach. Environ 7 miles à Meredith.
