The cabin is beautiful, very clean spacious and the place is the best is very close to the downtown of Tahoe and near the lake a block, super recommended, I will try to reserve it again for the summer as it is very close to the lake.
GREAT LOCATION, clean, but nothing else of value to offer
I am not much of a complainer but, I have stayed in many vacation rentals as well as rent out my own vacation property and this is for sure sub-par.
Pros--Great Location and clean house with soap and bathroom essentials.
Cons--The BBQ needs to be lit with a match or lighter, which was not provided. The Oven literally did not turn on, gas was not even working in it. The stove needed to be lit with a match as well. This to me is unacceptable. I understand if the owner is in the midst of repairs, but then at least provide matches or lighter to use. Luckily I had a match box in my handbag or else we would not be cooking.
You need a beach pass to get onto the local beach as it is private, which was not provided. Luckily the AMAZING neighbor Bridget, did provide me with a spare. I had gone over to borrow aluminum foil to cook on the bbq because our oven was not working. Had she not have informed me of this when I went over, we would have been very upset when we got to the beach to find out it is private.
The house is decorated in OLD hospital furniture, Turns out the homeowner used to work at a hospital. It was gross.
Every knife in the kitchen was dull and there was hardly anything to use to cook with. The wine key did not even work, luckily I travel with one for hotels!
Though I am happy that this house was available last minute, the price for two nights is incredibly steep to pay for what you get, which is NOTHING. I am very disappointed in not only the property owner but in VRBO/Vacasa for allowing this property to be rentable in this condition for this price.
I did call the handyman that the neighbor Bridget said that the homeowner uses to report the BBQ, stove and oven issues but I never heard back from him.
I am very disappointed in the property, but it did not effect our holiday as we were happy to be at the house enjoying all that Tahoe offers.

We wish this guest would have called into our Guest Service Line during their stay so our local property team could have addressed their concerns right away. Great Home For the Family
This was a very spacious house with plenty of amenities. Has a nice little back patio with a small BBQ and WiFi is pretty good. Some of the bedrooms rooms don't have curtains, only blinds, allowing a great deal of early morning light. Other than that, I have no complaints at all. Te location is perfect. Two blocks from the beach and two blocks from the casinos.
This home met our needs in terms of space but it needs some serious updating of key items!
Where to begin?? In terms of location and space this rental worked. In terms of comfort, not so much. When we arrived we had issues with heat both fireplace and heater. Vacasa maintenance did finally get the heater working after coming back a second time and needing to replace the thermostat. The fireplace never worked but at least we were here in the summer. The gas stove needs to be replaced. We cooked breakfast the first morning and never used it again. It is seriously old and dangerous! The mattresses on all the beds were atrocious. We might as well have been camping! Hard as rocks! We were in Lake Tahoe for a 100 mile bike ride so sleep was super important to us.
Finally, be advised, South Lake Tahoe now has some serious new city ordinances about how many people you can have over to the house, not to stay, just to come over. We came from Texas with a team of cyclists for the ride and wanted to have a get together but didn’t because of the fear of getting a $1000 fine from the city. I love Lake Tahoe and have been here several times, but will think twice about staying in a rental property because of this.
I plan to follow up with Vacasa by phone because I do feel this property was not worth the total cost in hopes they will make some financial concessions for our issues. We shall see.
We are sorry to hear about this guest experience. Our local team worked very hard to help this guest. The stove has also been serviced so that it is fully functioning. The mattresses in the home have recently been replaced. We are very sorry that they did not suite this guest's needs. Our homes do only allow for the allotted guests in the home at any time. Not worth the money!
This rental was overall a terrible experience. First we bought the extra cancellation insurance which was useless because you have to cancel within 30 days and we made the reservations 27 days prior (thanks for selling us something that we couldn’t use). Then we we got there, one of the bathroom showers was plugged up and couldn’t be used so we all had to share a shower. The living room and dining area are tiny so we were cramped. I wish we’d gone with a hotel or other. I’ll never use VRBO again!
If guests purchase our Trip Protection they can use it to cancel with a refund all through the final day of their reservation in case of emergency. The Trip Protection does not allow guests to cancel with a full refund because they changed their mind. Maintenance will take care of the shower drain right away.
