A perfect place for our family vacation/reunion.
Meeting for a family vacation, this home was fabulous, private, and comfortably accommodated 16; 8 adults and 8 kids. The pool overlooked the ocean and was a favorite spot for the kids. The maid(s) came every day to wash towels, make beds, and clean. They were nice and helpful. The house had everything we needed! There are air conditioning units throughout the house. Our bedroom unit wasn’t working but within a day it was replaced. Jan was super helpful from the beginning. He answered many questions and even gave me a Facetime tour of the home. The house is in a perfect location, within walking distance from the main marina area and swimming with the dolphins, restaurants and shops. The community is safe. We were surprised to find a skatepark at the entrance which our son enjoyed since he brought his scooter. We enjoyed renting a golf cart for several days from Bruno which was between $35-40 per day depending on the number of days we rented. The $9 per day bike rental at the visitor center was a fun way to explore the beautiful community. We also rented three cars which fit (tight) in the front of the house. Renting a car and driving from Cancun was easy. Xcaret was 10 minutes away, Playa del Carmen 15-20 minutes, and Tulum wasn’t far either. Woodward which is at the Hard Rock Café Hotel was 5 minutes away and a popular attraction for the kids. It had a trampoline area, scooter, skatepark, and biking area. With a national discount the cost was $24 per kids for two hours and included a meal. There was also a ninja warrior course. We had an awesome time!
Perfect Oceanfront Villa
The Casa Las Garzas oceanfront villa was exactly what I imagined for our family of 15 to gather together for an early celebration of our 50th anniversary. The house is spacious, clean and perfect with plenty of room for all to congregate or to have privacy. It is beautifully decorated with lots of seating inside and out, unique artwork and comfortable beds.
The owner would quickly respond to any questions by email or phone and offered some helpful recommendations.......Ray's shuttle service was very accommodating. Vicky the housekeeper had some great snacks for our arrival. She and her assistant were there every day to tidy up. We just felt bad that we couldn't communicate better with them.
Puerto Aventuras is a very safe gated community and it was easy to get around with mini van, golf cart or walking.
The only problem was all the stairs for one of our daughters. She had surgery on a torn Achilles the week before so she was in a cast, couldn't step on that leg and had to use a knee scooter. She managed but just want to forewarn others that the house isn't handicap accessible. .....luckily hers is temporary.
We all had a great time at this wonderful villa and would highly recommend it. Thank you Jan and Gigi for sharing your beautiful home.
Wonderful Time in Mexico
We have stayed in the Playa del Carmen and Tulum area many times, at both resorts and vacation villas, but never before in Puerto Aventuras. What a gem of a find! We rented golf carts and had a great time visiting all the fantastic restaurants, shops and even a quaint and magical little outdoor spa right across from the house. When we did decide to venture out to dinner and shopping in Playa del Carmen, it was easy to grab a taxi from the resort nearby.
The house itself is beautifully unique, with Mexican art and decor throughout in vibrant and gorgeous colors. We had plenty of room for our three families, with a lot of kids. We all agreed that we had never slept so well, listening to the crashing waves and feeling the ocean breeze. The kids loved the pool and the wildlife (iguanas!) and enjoyed exploring the tide pools. Snorkeling from behind the house was fantastic on days when the waves were calm and a sandy beach was just a short walk (or swim) down the beach. The area felt very safe and was convenient to both PdC and Tulum. The owners, Jan and Gigi, were so helpful with many suggestions of places to go and things to see. We were trying to figure out how to stay in Mexico before our vacation was over and now can't wait to go back.
Beautiful property in a safe gated community
This place is more beautiful in person the pictures don't do it justice. The owners were very communicative and helpful, answering every question with detail in an expedited manner. They helped us make arrangements for transfers to and from the airport and also provided us with recommendations for a chef to make our Thanksgiving dinner.
The property is located right on the water but it's really rocky and rough immediately out front of the house. The view is spectacular. We took a short walk alone by the water to a swimmable beach.
The gated community is so safe. The driver who drove us said that it was one of the safest communities in Quintana Roo. My son swam with the dolphins, he did the picture package that includes the manatee and seal pictures too. You get a CD of the pictures plus one print but the resolution is amazing and it was so reasonably priced around $250.
The house itself is so well appointed. There's Netflix on the TV, but we didn't really have time for TV. There's bottled water available all the time. The hosts filled a fridge with snacks and beer for our arrival.
There's one bedroom upstairs with 4 full size beds and it's own bathroom, 4 of us stayed together here because the room was so huge and the views so beautiful. The other huge room has one big bed and its own bathroom. Across the hallway are 2 more bedrooms, one with a full size bed and the other with a queen, I think they each had their own bathrooms too. There are 2 more huge bedrooms at ground level. We didn't even occupy 2 of the rooms.
The maid was so nice, she was constantly tidying up and even brought us some tacos on her day off. Having her there was a real treat.
One word of caution, you may not flush any paper down the toilet. It was something unusual for us, we brought disposable doggie bags to use for the TP. Also not all rooms have AC.
All in all a wonderful stay and we would definitely come back here again.
Casa Las Garzes
Stunning view of the sea, magnificent pool, generous bedrooms, the most beautifully decorated home in Mexico. The owners have clearly put a lot of love and energy into creating a beautiful home by the sea which can house an infinite number of people. The community itself is gated well-maintained and felt completely safe. Multiple restaurants to satisfy even the pickiest eaters. Practically your own aquarium right in the neighborhood. If you want a relaxing vacation just to sit by the beautiful sea or you want to enjoy the delights of Playa and Tulum this is a most beautiful place to make your homebase. Can't wait to go back!
