Means of access Coming from Lisbon, you can choose between two routes: either stick to the A2 motorway as far as the Grândola intersection, and from there cross the Serra de Grândola in the direction of Sines, or go via Setúbal and the ferry to Troia. The first route is slightly quicker, although the second, passing Comporta and the lagoons of Melides and St. André, is more scenic and shorter in terms of mileage.
Both routes lead you to the roundabout on the dual carriageway to Sines, at which point you should follow the signs reading "Algarve". At the power station in S. Torpes, follow the signs for Porto Covo along the coast road.
From Porto Covo follow the signs for Vila Nova de Milfontes, passing the crossroads for Ilha do Pessegueiro and Foros da Pouca Farinha.
At the junction by the primary school in Brunheiras follow the signs for Vila Nova de Milfontes and head straight on. Follow the N393 in the direction of Odemira, and after passing the bridge over the river Mira it’s about another 14 km before you come to a junction for Zambujeira do Mar/ Cabo Sardão. Follow the sign for Zambujeira do Mar.
2.5 km down the road you’ll come to another junction. Turn left here in the direction of Lagos, then after a stretch of straight road turn right towards Zambujeira do Mar.
After 4 km you’ll see a sign that reads “Turismo Rural, Quinta do Sardanito de Trás”. Turn right, then right again. The gate on the right, immediately after a line of eucalyptus trees, is the entrance to the estate.

In the town of Zambujeira, sights include Largo da Capela de Nossa Senhora do Mar and the fountains: Fonte dos Amores and Fonte Santa Catarina.
Walking trails through the natural park, with fabulous scenery and the chance to glimpse birdlife such as the stork, peregrine falcon, hoopoe, bee-eater, osprey and bustard.
Cabo Sardão – the westernmost point on the Alentejo coast, between Almograve and Zambujeira do Mar, where land meets sea in the most spectacular fashion.
Eating out: Local specialities include caldeirada de peixe (fish stew), sargo grelhado (grilled sea bream), feijoada de búzios (a stew of beans and whelks), moreia frita (fried moray eel), and all kinds of shellfish. Filhós e doce de abóbora (a kind of deep-fried puff pastry served with pumpkin jam) is a popular local sweet. Good local restaurants include Cervejaria I (Zambujeira do Mar), Sacas (Entrada da Barca), Tasca do Celso (Vila Nova de Milfontes), A Azenha do Mar (Azenha do Mar), A Chaminé (Brejão) and Café Restaurante Central (Brejão).
