Visit one of the restaurants inside the Schloßquadrat Courtyards (around the corner on Margaretenplatz).
The short walk to downtown Vienna is quite worthwile: you will pass through one of the most colorful areas of Vienna including the Gay and Lesbian Scene, many Asian shops, restaurants of various nationalities, bars, clubs and Vienna's largest market - the Naschmarkt. The area is save, but still quite an experience both day and night.
