High placed, as if it was a belvedere, “CASAS DA FIGUEIRA” complex is surrounded by lovely prairies to which none of the visitors looking for a true resting days can become indifferent. “CASAS DA FIGUEIRA” estate is divided into two independent groups: • “CASA DO FIGO MADURO” is composed by the residence and the typical kitchen • “CASA DO FIGO SECO” is composed by the former hand-mill Notices Pets not allowed, Shared garden, Situated on an island Location View of Sea Opposite. Village centre : 200 m / 570 ft, Beach : 500 m / 1425 ft, Airport : 25 km, Town centre : 12 km, Activities in the vicinity Mountain Biking / Cycling, Fishing, Hiking Means of access The island of Pico is served by a Estrada Regional (Country Road), that follows all the island seaside. If you come from Madalena, you must go to East (São Roque’s way). You will see from the left, in its whole São Jorge’s Island. You will cross, in the way to the Airport, lots of counties, each one with its Empire, until you reach São Roque. Leaving São Roque, you will follow by the Estrada Regional, passing by São Miguel de Arcanjo – with its superb belvedere, by the Parque Florestal , by Praínha de Cima, where a cheese making factory exists and sells regional cheese and at the end you will find Praínha. After the first street crossing (saying Praínha - from the left side - at a very steep street), you will follow the Estrada Regional, about 700 m and will turn to the right at a defeated street crossing . You will go, by a tarred road, about 300 m, and will reach finally “CASAS DA FIGUEIRA”. If you come from the Airport (38 km), enjoy Pico’s view till you get the Estrada Regional.There you will turn to the left and then the way is practically the same, since this is located between Madalena and São Roque. If you come from São Roque (16 km), you just follow the same directions as above. Praínha is served by 2 mini-markets, 2 Coffees and a Pizzas-Hamburgers Restaurant (this one at Canto da Areia). At the Estrada Regional (almost in front of “CASAS DA FIGUEIRA”), there is a Bakery that sells a tasty Bread (the Pão de Massa Sovada). You will have to ask for it because there isn’t bread every day. From now on, we must state that we won’t take any responsibilities for an increase in weight in our dear customers.
