The oldest part of the house dates back to the beginning of 1800. This was costructed using the local straw and mud brick (in sardinian language ‘ladiri’) and also in local stone.
The windows and the main roof joisting were made in juniper wood and the ceiling with wide pine board.
The house has at various times been renovated. In the 90s a part of the house was refurbished and recently the oldest part of the house has just been restored to its original state.
At the begining the house was used as pub and little shop. Subsequenty it has been used as a traditional farm house. One will see some of the old farming utensils used by the women of the house. Many of these have been carefully restored., These include baskets, jugs, seives, bowls for making bread, spinning tops and an old weaving machine made in junniper wood .This equipment reflects the nature of the past hard village life that the sardinian people are very proud of.

Hints and Tips San Vito is a quiet and unpretentious village with a population of less than 3,000 inhabitants, located with Muravera and Villaputzu in the Sarrabus region ( south west of Sardinia).
In the old historic part of the village (some of which contains modern 70s architecture)
one can still find the large antique doors which open into the old mansions built with the local quarried granite stone of the area.
The village is only 10 minutes from the lifegarded beaches of Muravera and Porto Corallo. These beaches are not crowded even at the height of the season in August
Within 20 or 30 min drive on the main road you can arrive at in the beautiful white sand beaches of Costa Rei and Villasimius,.
