The location of the Post Alpina family hotel, in the heart of the Dolomites, is truly incredible: latch on your cross-country skis and you’ll find yourself at the beginning of one of the most beautiful runs in South Tyrol; put on your skis and you’ll be ready to take the Monte Elmo lift at the valley station; jump on a mountain-bike and start riding on the San Candido-Lienz bike path; put a sack lunch in a back-pack, slip on your hiking boots and start trekking on the most beautiful trials in the Dolomites.
At the end of a fun-filled and exciting day in one of the most beautiful hiking areas of South Tyrol, guests will return to their comfortable and spacious Alpine style apartments in the Post Alpina family hotel. Now it’s time for the family to relax: Mom and Dad can play cards, lazily ready the newspaper or even take a nap, while their children play some games. Then Mom will treat herself to a Tyrolean stone oil bath, while Dad, after a biosauna session, will swim a few laps in the indoor-outdoor swimming pool. Means of access BY CAR:
From the Brennero motorway:
On the A22 from Verona/Bolzano or from Brennero, exit at Bressanone and continue about 70 km in the direction of San Candido. Cross through the town and continue another 4 km to Versciaco, in the direction of the Austrian border. Here, after reaching the Monte Elmo parking area with the uphill facilities, turn right and continue about 200 m until you come to the front of our underground garage.
Travel time from the Bressanone exit to the Post Alpina: 1 hour
From Veneto or Venice :
1st option:
Travel in the direction of Belluno, Cortina, Dobbiaco, and continue until San Candido and then follow the route described above.
Travel time from Cortina to the Post Alpina: 40 minutes
2nd option:
Take the motorway in the direction of Tarvisio, go beyond the Monte Croce Pass and the Sesto Valley up to San Candido, and then follow the route described above.
Travel time from the motorway exit to the Post Alpina: 2 hours
From Austria:
From Lienz in east Tyrol travel about 40 km up to the Italian-Austrian border and continue for another 4 km to Versciaco. After reaching the Monte Elmo parking area with the uphill facilities, turn left and continue about 200 m until you come to the front of our underground garage.
BY TRAIN:
Rome – San Candido: Rome – Verona – San Candido. Change in Fortezza.
We will pick you up from the San Candido train station.
Southbound railway line: Vienna – Villach – Spittal – Lienz – San Candido.
