Location
Uzès, the nearby very lively small town has been magnificently restored. The whole area gathers there on Saturday morning for the well-known market.
Saint Quentin la Poterie is a big rural village. It has been famous since the Roman Times because of its pottery craft. It provided the region with roman tiles and the floors of the Palais des Papes in Avignon come from there. Ovens dating back to the 11th century can still be found in the country and the village is still famous for its numerous workshops.
Saint Quentin la Poterie lies in an excellent location: The Pont du Gard, Unesco World Heritage Site, is only 15 km drive. Avignon, la Camargue and the mountainous Cevennes (bambouseraie in Anduze) are not far. Montpellier is only 1 hour drive and Marseille is 2 hours.
