The main door of this portion of the barn opens into the living room with a terracotta floor and a stone fireplace . It contains a dining area with a wood country dresser, table and chairs and a sitting area with a very comfortable, new, sofa bed and armchairs, television and coffee table. A small, well-lit, modern kitchen leads off from the living room with its own door leading to the outside and a small private garden for the use of our guests. A complete bathroom with shower and washing machine also leads off from the living room. A flight of terracotta and wrought iron stairs lead up to the open-plan sleeping area. Two big windows give a view on the garden outside and the surrounding hills. The barn sleeps from 1-5 people with the possibility of a travel cot. If you want to see the sights in the city, there is a coach connection to Florence which leaves from the end of the road through to the center. You can also reach Florence by train from the station in the next village, or by city bus, at all times, parking in the outskirts of the town . If you also want to enjoy the countryside and the natural beauties of Tuscany, in 15 minutes you can reach Fiesole , the Mugello or in the other direction, the Chianti area.There are also many beautiful country walks to do and villages to see in our immediate surroundings.

Means of access Come off the motorway at Firenze Sud. Follow the directions to Firenze up to the end of the flyover, crossing the River Arno. Keep in the right hand lane. At the traffic lights at the end of the flyover turn right following the signs towards Forlì, Pontassieve. You will be driving along a road called Via Generale dalla Chiesa. Continue straight along this road. The River Arno will be on your right.
You will come through the following villages: Girone, Anchetta, Compiobbi, Ellera , Le Falle
And Sieci. At the first traffic lights in Sieci turn left in the direction of Olmo, Santa Brigida, Molino del Piano, Doccia. Pass under the railway bridge and go straight on. After about 2km there is a road bearing to the right which leads to Molino del Piano. You carry straight on and bypass the village
in the direction of Olmo and Santa Brigida. After about 3 km you will see a sign on your right, before the junction, indicating Fornello/il Colle. You turn right here and go straight on. Ours is the first house on the right where the nursery is, Vivaio Gamberaia.

Hints and Tips For people who love the countryside and plants, there are many possibilities for walking and exploring in the woods and hills that surround us. Otherwise our guests can make use of the facilities in the area, such as a riding school just down the road, or tennis courts and swimming pools in the nearby villages. There is a choice of good characteristic restaurants nearby.We are in an ideal position for traditional tourism. Fiesole, the Chianti area and the Mugello are just 15 minutes away, and as we are only 15km from Florence, you can easily discover its historical treasures without the inconvenience of city life.There are several ways to reach the centre. You can catch the coach, which passes along the main road close to us; you can catch the train from the station in the next village or you can park your car on the outskirts of Florence and catch the town bus which leaves regularly and takes you to Piazza del Duomo.
